The silicone elastic "laces" that go straight side to side would give them a very clean look imho. The shoe factories likely buy the laces from a shoelace factory, they might have switched suppliers or the shoelace supplier they work with got cute and substituted a cheaper material to pad their margins, Chinese manufacturers are infamous for doing this.

I just purchased my first Koio’s, same as your blue ones. I gotta tell you, I’ve owned CPs and the Koio’s are actually better. The leather is thinner, therefore they are lighter. Also fits better on my wide feet. I just ordered these White/Gum soles, and I think I’m set for a while. Great review BTW. Thank you.

I find the triple whites and to be tight even though I do not have wide feet. Are the shoes tight for you?

They are sleek and narrow. But I broke mine in. They fit comfortably now! Be patient in wearing them and see what becomes!

I messaged the company. No response on this yet. But I do believe that this particular rubber is a kind of it's own. Very durable and they last for a LONG time ⌛️. Hope that helps my friend!
