I get the criticism that the top 8 is too many teams, but to counter that, the top 5 has been settled for a few weeks now, and barring some changes to which order they finish is pretty much set. At least with 8 teams making the finals these later rounds still have teams with plenty to play for and the comp still has intrigue and excitement as a result. With no promotion/relegation battles it’s probably the best compromise to keep the games involving the craphouse teams interesting.
