I really hope they find a better way to do' quickness+alacrity in the future. Sacrificing a whole Grandmaster on even 1 specialization is just like so "ehh"

I'm starting to think part of the reason Warrior gets so neglected is the people in every single reddit thread that post "Berserker go brrrrr", and then downvote any criticism to the state of Warrior, or the people on reddit always suggesting beginners play warrior, giving it the impression that it's more than fine.

I’m sure this isn’t a super unique take, but tying CC and damage to each other is always going to be super tricky. I think the way Necro can spend an entire grandmaster to turn fear into damage is the model. If you want a skill to CC and damage, make it cost committing to being central to the build.

tbh. Not to completely make this about Warrior, but that's kind of their philosophy where they have so many 'on cc do X effect' traits. The problem then becomes if you whiff said cc's your boned. I kinda agree tho & it might be interesting if things like War who's balance was/is so cc+damage centric if they say, had a Grandmaster somewhere that added damage back to all their hard cc's or something. It'd need to be balanced ofc, but it might provide some "damage OR trait utility" variety if nothing else.

@@GW2Pseudo Big agree. Imo, for all classes, the default should be that utility skills are just that-utilities. They should be primary ally skills you use either in response to something (like a cleanse/stun break/large heal/etc), to prepare for something (aegis/stability/etc), to fill some distinct role/function (CC, boon strip, alac/quickness), or give up that opportunity in exchange for damage. By having it all so muddled we end up with builds that have to use their biggest group heal on cool down, so good luck if it doesn’t happen to line up, or with classes that end up with overloaded I-win buttons that do big damage, hard cc, clean your room, and make your dad proud of you in one click. I’ve gotten kinda into watching really old build guides (like, year 2 or 3) and it’s crazy how much more distinct skills used to be. Granted, weapon skills were often much less individually complex, but rotations/engagements weren’t just “hit all 10 buttons,” particularly not in the pvp videos. This seems to have left more room for specialization at the time, like a warrior could really shine at knocking people down/stunning and dealing damage in that window. Battering Ram energy. But now so many videos in PvE and pvp, particularly for the not highest tier builds, include the line “but X meta build does this with way less effort, more consistently, and more powerfully.” Which would also be fine, if every class had places to appear in videos and be referred to the one that does X better/faster/stronger.
