As a black woman I can say it is VERY difficult for us to take accountability for faults in our children. We equate it to failure, but with failure there’s opportunity for growth. The quicker we can own it the faster we can start putting in the work to pivot towards a better outcome with our children.

That doesnt teach lessons.You want everyone to see that you are cutting her hair and then have her go to school where she will most likely be picked on for 1. having a crazy ass mom and 2. looking different and getting her hair cut off so aggressively. How traumatizing and belittling that moment mustve been for her. Every kid is different and you should know how to discipline them in the way in which it works but this was NOT IT.
