The time has come to move on from the ktm 890 adventure, she has been great, what a machine! Time to blast into 2024 on my new Yamaha Tenere World Raid.

This bike with tubeless tyres and cruise control plus a full pipe and tune would be perfect - alas Yamaha refuse to give it to us those who want it.
@NorthRaceOne29 күн бұрын
Ye, was curious about this, i was wondering if i could adapt a cruise control -control module and make a kit to sell for this bike,..i do miss cruise on them long hauls after having it on the ktm 😂

@@NorthRaceOne I hear Atlas throttle locks are very good and give excellent flexibility.

Yes, I’ve heard the same from many happy customer reviews - with that and a Black Widow full system I’d be almost there!

nice real time review...the beauty of biking is we all have our individual requirements and the longer we ride and older we get our needs and wants change. Changing bike models and even styles lead us into different riding styles and mental approach to the riding various bikes create. I love the KTm as the suspension and chassis characteristics are so good compared to its competitiors. not taking anything away from the Tenere as its a proven and reliable bike.

Yes mate, im 100% with you, took me a while to get to terms and up to speed to the tenere,..i loved and still miss my 890 for sure,..powerwise was something else,..you hear all stories but mine never missed a beat...i love both bikes with a passion they all becoming mega machines m8

The Tenere World Raid is the Range Rover of motorcycles, fantastic on road but you know it can do the off road stuff if you want. I have had mine 9 months and it is a great tourer. I fitted the 16t front sprocket from the MT07 which lowers revs around 500rpm on motorway, adds some torque but still loads of overtaking power.
@NorthRaceOne3 ай бұрын
Yes couldnt agree more, thats interesting regards the gearing, i have been looking into this, they are a great reliable allrounder for sure,..was the torque added really obvious with the sprocket?
@davidz83 ай бұрын
No the torque isn't obvious, but the drop in revs on motorways is@@NorthRaceOne

V Hi I too have just purchased a Ténéré World Rally. But before, I was riding a Kawaki 500 KLE. Like you, I am very happy with it for the moment. But I can't wait for the summer season to start because living in the French Alps (Hautes-Alpes), the potential for roads and trails is enormous. V

Can i ask why you have a sat nav blocking your view of the road or is it just the camera angle from your helmet. Nice review.😀

@@NorthRaceOne ive got a crf300l and a mt10sp and im thinking of selling both and getting the wr t7. Is it fun in the twistys or a bit floppy into corners.cheers si
@NorthRaceOne3 ай бұрын
@@thecornishbiker9323 i would, 100% test ride it beforehand, it makes a huge difference if set up correctly,.. so much adjustment for the suspension on the world raid,..ive literally just set in the rebound etc tonight and gonna give it a good run tomorrow,..see how she goes, now the ktm 890 r on the twistys, thats another level, i would certainly give that a hoot as well 👍🏻

@@NorthRaceOne i cant get past the reliability issues with all ktm. Mate had a super duke that blew itself to pieces under warranty and they really didnt want to help. Had a 401 husqvarna and that was great but like you mentioned on your video it had a few niggling thing wrong with it from new.

@@thecornishbiker9323 ye its proper annoying,..they make such a weapon of a machine, then the little things let it down,..also you nailed it with customer service, ive used chester Ktm and they were really good,...but ive heard horror stories elsewhere for sure 🥲

I am thinking to do the opposite at some point. T7 to 890/Norden. The T7 lacks some excitement on the road after 3 years of riding it.
@NorthRaceOne4 ай бұрын
Can agree with you here, the ktm is super exciting to ride on the roads,..its a mega machine,..the tenere is so rewarding though when you wind it up in lower gears, it likes it neck ringing to get the most from it for sure 😂
@gbner99914 ай бұрын
@@NorthRaceOne That makes sense. I only rode a Duke 890 and that engine was an absolute hoot. (The T7 in comparison feels quite soft and "sleepy". On the other hand I think the T7 will be easier to ride off the road. For now I will keep it because it just works so well, but a few more HP at the top end wouldn't hurt it in my opinion.
@derrickmurphy98593 ай бұрын
@NorthRaceOne but it's the reliability for me with the Yamaha, I just love reliability over that extra bit of fun on the norden or ktm.

It is too bad that Yamaha hires complete morons to market and/or sell their products. The only bike available in the US is the bare bones T7. Anyone here knows how many freeways exist and when you adventure ride you travel some serous distance. No cruise, small tank, below avg suspension....deal breaker. Now I don't know if this World Raid has cruise but it has more fuel capacity and a good suspension....add cruise and it is nearly a perfect choice but alas, not available in the US. This is why I bought a Desert X because it has all of that and great pathways for upgrades. I think the appeal for the T7 was its cheap price tag but then everyone complains about the more expensive competitors like the KTM and Ducati. Add to the T7 all of the great features that the KTM and Ducati have and that bare bones T7 becomes a $16k bike really fast. Not sure the price on the World Raid because there is no US price but In Europe the MSRP is $14k I believe which seems like a bargain.
