First, the two best parts tied are Dami's singing, but also the fact that Handong has lines, and not only that, she has the very beautiful part "And now, I'm holding this pain..." She's really getting to show her great vocals this comeback. This comeback..... Its gotta be this comeback, right? This group is so goddamn talented, they're so different, the song is so powerful and beautiful and epic, the outfits and stages have all been awesome, hell, even the fanchants have been super loud to the point that Jiu stayed after thanking the fans on Inkigayo. Which sucks because it was also Everglow's first win too. And they're absolutely killing it, so I don't want to begrudge them. In terms of the voting thing, its hard to pinpoint since they're a private company and only answer to themselves. So no one really knows the real calculations. But the most likely event, based on people's experience, was that Everglow got a LOT of the expert vote and DC got 0. Which is tragic, but there is still a slim chance next week. Vixx and KARD were looking like the biggest competition, but Vixx isnt promoting their song and KARD's is a digital single. Even though they need their first win too :(

From the get - go, their concept took on a very dark/epic/sad direction, which is consistent with what the storyline was shown (from the game King's Raid), and their production + song itself portrayed a sense of sadness, which is well reflected in how the video was edited. There was nothing happy about it, not even their happy moments could take away the fact that sense of solitude that came after. It builds on that melancholy feel whenever the soft gentle part (which is just so SO good, like you said) just before the music buildup leading into the chorus, and it is a reminder (albeit somewhat stinging) that at the heart of it ,the song is a song of sorrow, in that no matter what outcome might occur, it will only be that sense of emptiness that remains. Amplified with the absolutely wonderful piano intro and outro parts, dejavu is arguably DC's strongest comeback. Love your analysis on this, because I feel the exact same way as you do when watching the MV for the first time.

I think it will be a huge travesty if these women don't get SOME kind of recognition from the industry by the end of 2019. They've spent so much time and effort cultivating a supportive fanbase, carving a niche in an industry of copy cats, and put in the work to finally be recognized by their coworkers. NOT ONE Kpop group has even come close this year to giving their fanbase exactly what they wanted. Just in terms of production they put out: -3 albums (2 Korean, 1 Japanese) -Did a successful world tour -Members participated in a variety of Korean TV shows(and were robbed of winning) -Put out some of, if not, THE BEST music covers ever by a Kpop group (some in perfect beautiful English might I add) -Showed the world that they can dance the pants off of anything with a beat (I'm looking at you Taki Taki!!!) -and about a ten thousand other content driven updates like Behind the scenes, live stages, and just general cute pictures of the members). This is not a game, if they don't win a Daesang, or artist of the year, it will prove Korea hates them because of their style and aesthetic.

I think people have associated this "anime" feeling with Dreamcatcher because they draw inspiration from classic J-rock. Having listened to J-rock is high school and college many, many years ago (kind of revealing my age here), I recognized that inspiration immediately when I first listened to Dreamcatcher's music. I think their songs Tension and Fly High are excellent examples of this sound. They execute it perfectly, considering how distinct the J-rock sound is.

i realized something: they're collaborating with the mobile(?) game king's raid, and the album is a special one called 'raid of dream'. the colors and vibes in the MV for deja vu remind me of the visuals i've seen for the game. I don't think that they necessarily made an entire album for the game, but there's definitely influences both ways. i think that's part of why it sounds more like a soundtrack, it kind of is. and i felt it when i first listened. i'd absolutely go crawl a dungeon and fight epic bosses to this song. any of dream catcher's songs, but especially this one.

They equivalent as the top kpop girl group popular outside korea than top girl group inside that korea itself. As a fan of DC for a while, I love how this one is a ballad in verses but a rock song in chorus...it's so different but perfectly shows their talentry of Ballads that NO ONE EVER SEES IN THEIR BSIDEs....anger aside....I love this song :)))))))) Handong's "holding this pain" is so beautiful i almost shed a tear the first time

Man. This song really brought me back to my Anime OST obsession. And its so well done too! The sound and video production were really well done. I also enjoyed this mini album. Their B sides are so good especially "Silent Night".

One thing I think people really sleep on when it comes to Dreamcatcher (let's be real people sleep on everything about Dreamcatcher they should be so much bigger) is their acting. Like their facial expresssions and how they compose themselves in the MV's are movie-quality. It's really noticeable in R.o.S.E. Blue and it's noticeable here also.

honestly it took me a few listens to actually buy into Dreamcatcher but since i gave in i’ve been consistently impressed by them and their versatility. i hope more people can realise their talent in the future.
