1 year and 2 months for just a single album seems wrong for a group with the depth of talent and style of fromis_9, but at least this TT is veeeery good and trendy and hopefully will put more success for them. But I think this kind of song should have been released earlier on the year. I could've been song of the summer, or at least a contender. Also, I agree with the "next step" comment, because this a group of WOMEN, but I think the transition was already teased on the Bsides of Unlock My World, when the album opens with that marvel of a song that is "Attitude", but now seeing this on a TT (and contrasting with the similar aesthetic but very different attitude on tracks like "Stay This Way" or "WE GO") is new and awesome and just quality. PS: As a Chaeyoung bias, having her doing the first lines of the song was very impactful.

4:50 I also think their discography has shown an amazing job of documenting their journey these past 6 years. Starting with their cute, heartfelt pre/debut songs to their 2018-2019 CBs, until they decided that they've grown enough to do more sleek, naturally chic concepts giving us a legendary discopop run w/ feel good, we go, stay this way, dm, and menow. unlock my world being their first full album felt like an amazing full-circle moment to their entire journey. now, supersonic feels like a reinvigoration, a palette cleanser of sorts, of fromis_9 to me. I'm looking forward to how they're gonna continue this jaw-droppingly amazing precedent they've built for themselves from the ground up in a currently oversaturated kpop industry

Indeed. As their fans from debut, I feel like growing with them. What makes thing even better is how they are maturing but not switching the concept drastically - it’s simply a summer song that enjoyable for everyone, with touch of their own color. Hopefully Pledis/HYBE doesn’t put them back in the basement for another year after this. They’re literally the only HYBE kpop girl group at this point in time with no scandals or hate and it’s crazy how their label says they’re not being mistreated and under-utilized after giving us the bare minimum (a single album) over a year after their first ever album. This being their best charting for a release to date hopefully tells Pledis/HYBE to give them another comeback before the end of the year.

5:00 what i love about fromis' discography is their songs evolve with them as they age. fromis has the most seamless concept growth all through out their career that you could practically watch the member's life growth on each comeback. - glass shoes, to heart, dk dk is their young teens - love bomb, fun is their mid teen - feel good, we go, talk & talk is your highschool sweet heart - dm+stw is your college sweet heart, - #menow is that lady fresh off college, the "ready to fight the real world" - supersonic + beat the heat is roughly in the same age gap of #menow but more secure and mature. they already have their footing on their lives. it is naturally more mature, because of course they grew older, but at the same time, they are the same old fromis you know and love. if you think of their discography that way and watch their content chronologically from the start, it would feel like watching a kdrama. (and for the delulu, if you self-insert yourself on that fromis_9 kdrama, it would feel as if your crush since you are young is growing old with you. has been your girl since highschool, you got through college together, and now bracing yourselves as young adults) some other groups has this problem that they have to suddenly change their concept and style because the members outgrew their original concepts. some even have to hop multiple times because they cant find the correct direction on where to pivot their concepts. that concept hopping leads to fans getting divided, because some would like the og concept and not like the new concept. while others would like the new concept but and not the og concept etc etc. im proud to say that fromis has no such problem at all. they didnt have to go through that awkward concept hopping. chronologically speaking, supersonic is a supercharged version of stw. if we get a winter comeback, it would be a more daring dm so brace yourselves for that, cause if supersonic is taking you for a ride, that "more daring DM" would steal your soul (also, why are some of the comments here so pessimistic when we are talking about one of the best fromis comeback ever???)

Just want to add some recommendations for fromis_9 listeners. Try to listen to their song in chronological order and mix it up. When you listen to their by each song then you got a great song, but when you listen to it fully in order then you will get the whole of their story.

(info from lyre music, the co-writers of the song) it was written and produced as a title track. that might also be the reason why beat the heat is so classic-fromis coded. i totally get why they picked supersonic, it is just too hype of a song to not be the release title track. but i consider supersonic + beat the heat as a double title track - if you want the classic summer sound of fromis, listen to beat the heat - if you want to hear fromis go experimental summer, listen to supersonic and i know that take a chance is slow and some might overlook it. but music packaging wise(yes, its a thing), supersonic + beat the heat are so front heavy played back to back, that if the ending song is a song lesser than take a chance, it wouldnt tie the bow properly and the whole single album would feel unbalanced and unfinish. (you could stop reading here if you are not into technical stuffs :p) when packaging an album, you always have to consider the play sequence of the songs. notice it or not, good albums are sequenced in a way that it would have a good flow from start to finish. thats why title tracks are not always the 1st tracks and some albums add insert songs/bytes for supersonic album, the flow goes from the hyper upbeat, to mid, to smooth since supersonic + beat the heat are such heavy front loaders, take a chance needs to be as equally smooth so it could wrap the two and tie the ending. if by the end of the album you felt that fromis take you from the most upbeat ride to the most cozy summer night, then the whole album is wrapped neatly with a ribbon.

There's something to be said for quality over quantity but if Pledis makes us wait another year for a comeback there will be trouble! I think the song would be really good whichever group sang it, but having fromis_9 do it makes it pure perfection! I thought Jiwon in particular absolutely monstered it, her vocals are just so incredibly strong, and her blonde looks and style - sheesh! Shoutout to Hayoung as ever for her singing and dancing but I also liked the way Nagyung and Seoyeon were given chorus parts as well which gave it a bit of variety even though the music didn't really change all that much from chorus to chorus. Oh and Jisun needs to stop looking like that, it's not good for my heart...

ofcourse theres individual ults and biases, but i honestly love that its a universal agreement among flovers that all fromis_9 members are our favorites and we support all 9 of them. its one of the reason why we are one of the most peaceful fandom. if every member is a favorite, then theres no reason for fandom in-fighting.. and im proud of that since most other fandoms has that toxic trait of in-fighting specifically because they want there individual bias be the top member or that they want individual to be promoted, or that an individual is getting mistreated etc etc all about an individual. flovers dont have that. we dont need to.. all fromis members are worth supporting

"fromis_9 don't promote as often as other Hybe groups" That's because Hybe clearly plays favorites, and some groups are merely an after thought. Heck, this CB was announced, and apparently begun, after flover protested the mistreatment of fromis. "Was it worth it?" The song is amazing, but every fromis_9 song is highly underrated. I'm done with all the hate the group has gotten over the years, and want to see them get their rightful place in the top tier of groups. The wait is another one in a long line of waits. The other waits weren't worth it... I hope this one was. In my opinion I think fromis deserves better treatment, and more CBs... but I fear this might be the last or second to last CB. I just hope all the shit they went through was worth it in the end. (I say this, well aware that compared to many groups "below" them in the rankings would die for what fromis has)
