I feel Hwasa, Dawn and Jessi’s songs actually were good in Pnation. Hyuna’s Good Girl and Flower Shower are decent and I’m Not Cool is my fav Hyuna song. I don’t get the Pnation hate actually.

@@vixxexo6855 I'd disagree with Dawn. I think he's music out of Pnation is more him. Pnation had it right with him at the start with "Money", but I think while he did take part in working on "Dawndididawn" and "Stupid Cool", you could tell they were leaning heavily into trying to hit it with the kpop sphere, but honestly Dawn has always fit the krnb aesthetic better and thats where pnation failed to market him

i wasn't too surprised by psy's influence - i really enjoy the song out of the same reason pd pointed out: it's really psy-coded but also so hwasa-coded which makes it soooo cool? they're both really similar in the way they share and show their confidence and powerful presence, it definitely works for her and that makes me so happy! i really enjoy the whole album, i definitely recommend you to listen to it all together :)

I am kinda surprised you didn't know Hwasa was in PNation! She signed to them a few months before I Love My Body (her first song under PNation). She signed on stage during a performance with Psy at SUMMER SWAG 2023

since she is attending a lot of festivals Hwasa said she wanted a song to make the audience jump and dance with her, actually she had another song (with Park Woo Sang) for the title track but before releasing it the concept overlapped with a song released by another group so they had to change it. The whole mini-album is incredible I hope you will give it a listen.

@heatherclemons1295 it's superb, I really love the variety of genres and what she does with her amazing voice. I think this is the first time in her solo discography she showcases what she can do from rap to high notes...it's a blessing

I love Na. It seemed to me that Hwasa went into a slump when her main creative partner Park Woosang left RBW a few years ago. It took a couple of years and a change of agencies but it looks like she's finally her artistic mojo back and that should be cause for celebration and dancing in the streets. I've heard nothing but complaints about Psy's influence in this song but I don't get it. It's not like she stole from him - she collaborated with him and it totally fits her style for all the excellent reasons you mentioned in your terrific comments. Na is a ton of fun and cheeky as hell and, speaking of cheeky, I can't help suspecting that the butt lift choreo is Hwasa's way of telling the haters to kiss her ass. 😏🤣

The butt lift choreo was the idea of one of the choreographers, Kirsten from Jam Republic, and I feel the way Hwasa interpreted while performing goes along those lines too 😂 also with some humor as well, the entire choreo is Hwasa having fun and enjoying herself 😊

@@AnaissN I knew Kirsten was at the bottom of it (sorry, couldn't resist) but of course Hwasa is going to invest the move with her own personality and intent. MMM has a penchant for visual puns such as Wheein's Easy MV or, for a real groaner of a pun, Hwasa being born from a box at the beginning of I'm a B, and I'm pretty sure she got a cheeky kick out of showing asswipes exactly where they can plant their lips. To paraphrase PD, just like Psy, Hwasa is a serious artist who doesn't take herself too seriously. Gotta love her. 😂

Actually Woosang worked closely with them all still mostly Wheein and Hwasa and actually he worked on this new album of hers on the songs OK NEXT and EGO.

Real Psy appreciators know lol He didn't actually touch the choreo, it's a mix of choreos that Jam Republic and La Chica created for her. She also mentioned in an interview that she wasn't satisfied with the track so Psy got Tommy Brown to produce the topline. I think Pnation style is a good match for her. She's always had such a strong sense of her identity as an artist and the passion at Pnation just amplifies her energy. The whole mini album is great - EGO is a fan favorite and I personally love Road. Always love your Mamamoo reviews :)

the only thing is that, as Jessi has said, sometimes (actually a lot of times) Psy interferes with what the artists actually want to release... so if she has a strong idendity but it doesn't match, it might be a huge conflict, but for now they seem to be matching well... I hope she can't do whatever she wants too...

As a Hwasa fan but someone who didn’t grow up with Psy’s music, I really appreciate your descriptions of just how much influence he had on this track! When I first heard the song I thought it fit Hwasa so perfectly. Combine that with choreo from Kirsten in Jam Republic?? Iconic song all around.

I love catching the Dua Lipa influence. Hwasa actually had a feature on an alternative release of Dua Lipa's Physical!! And they have sung on stage together since. No idea if they're friends outside of their work together but I wouldn't be surprised, they have great musical chemistry on stage.

Hwasa's dancing has incredibly improved, like her discipline is just amazing. Comparing her way of performing before and now, wow, I didn't think she'd get better and better but she just keeps surpassing herself. Dancing 100% and still singing live too!

It’s been ages since I’ve watched a reaction video! Almost didn’t recognize you PD. It took a while for me to warm up to this song but now I like it. The PSY influence wasn’t a surprise since she’s signed to his label but I will admit that I prefer her RBW solos a bit more however it’s cool to see her trying something new and fun. Thank you for this reaction! So many can't get over such small part of the choreo, or the fact that Psy helped write the song. He was one of MANY, and she also sent it back to him the first time she hear it, saying "No, she didn't like the sound of it" and that is when he brought in Ariana Grande's producer to help with the sound of the song. So if she doesn't like something, she tells him. I hate that everyone just assumes, everything is just Psy, and nothing could possibly be HWA SA. There will always be some influence of the producer/CEO the artist is under, especially if they WROTE the song being recorded. How about the fact that she is HAPPY doing this song, and the new music on [0] her album, that she wanted to try something new. With her other solo music, she was in a very unhappy place, so of course her music sounded different, and with her old music I am sure has influence of Kim Do-hoon from RBW, and LOGOS (PWS), but since it's the only music we know from her it's all we have to compare with her new music. I just wish more people would be more supportive, like you were, and not so negative (I want her music to sound like "Old Hwa Sa"), and be open to letting her try something new, learn from new people in the industry, and see where she goes from here. Again, Thank you for this great reaction, and I hope you do a full album reaction. I'd love to see it!

The butt choreography was too weird for me. It didn’t look like the natural progression when they were doing it. Love the leg kick when they are dancing differently Love the beginning of the song but not the build up or Psy sound influence.
