Oneus' sound and style, the thing they're best at is slow, sensual, or just elegant sounds. It makes them stand out from the 4th gen crowd so much bc it's not the cute or the sexy or cool concepts that we're seeing over and over again. ONEUS had more control over both LUNA and this comeback, and it's what makes these two comebacks in particular so great. Nobody knows ONEUS better than ONEUS, and I hope their CEOs at RBW takes the successes of these two comebacks in particular as signs to step back more and let ONEUS take control. They were deciding between multiple songs on their album when choosing which one to make the title track, and Keonhee was the deciding factor in choosing Same Scent. Hwanwoong was also the Performance Director for this comeback, and it was his idea to film in water. He also made adjustments to the choreo on set in order to make the mv better. Before their comeback ONEUS dropped individual concept films that are hot to say the least. I really recommend watching them either in your free time or as bonus videos. They are also releasing season three of their Show Me the MWM reality show if you're interested.

What I really Likes about PD is the fact that HE REALLY appreciates the amount of thought and time put into the cinematography, Take the Scene with Leedo and Seoho for example, most people would just totally overlook it, but PD was really impressed and gave us a very thoughtful detail about those sets and the shots presented. I'm so so happy with this comeback. The one before this with Bring It On was not my taste and seemed a little bit to close to mainstream 4th gen boygroup music, but now Oneus really found their personal style (even with the constantly changing concepts) and are finally getting the recognition they deserve. Same Scent got its third win today and that on Music Bank of all the shows! Their formular to success seems to be not going for the loud and hard hitting boy crush or cute concept and sound like most 4th gen boygroups do at the moment, but instead doing a little softer, more sensual and dramatic dance track. The melody for Same Scent was clearly inspired by A Song Written Easily but the attitude and confidence the members show couldn't have been possible before Luna and Oneus getting their first win. They came so far and their music really shows that process.

I think what makes this video so special is just how INTENTIONAL every element is. As you mentioned, these shots require specific composition, not just throwing together things. Ah yes. This is the content I’ve been waiting for. Me and my boyfriend adore your uploads, as they’re the best kind of reaction videos out there! Real talk and real discussion. 4 awards for Oneus’ entire career now and it feels great this week. Especially after how many eras have been worthy of more credit! The literal and intentional sequel to “A Song Written Easily” didn’t let us down. Ravn has been producing a lot more, Hwanwoong was promoted to official Performance Director and stylized this entire choreography. The barefoot dancing with big water splashes was literally an on-set last minute decision. Luna is still my favorite but this is a comeback that really announces Oneus’ growth and involvement! Still with the elegance they’ve become known for. We never know what to expect from a Oneus comeback asides that it will be top tier quality of whatever they chose. Always an expensive feeling that highlights every aspect of production. I really think RBW knows the kind of quality they hold, despite not being “mainstream” and really wants to let them keep that identity/pick their own direction. Letting them learn and control as much as they’d like in their presentation. Funding it and paying attention to the smallest details. As a result there is always a professional and researched way to explain why Oneus is “good”. (You in particular notice and go into that!) Their passion, taste and artistry is blatant in every comeback. I respect the company a lot for how they handle it and not treating them as micromanaged poster boys. They let and encourage Oneus to take the wheel while allowing them to have every tool at their disposal, which is really important for growing a deep and steady fanbase.

i share a lot of your sentiments regarding the video and cb! it took me a good few minutes to take the mv in cuz it was unlike anything they've done before. the "bare", "stripped-down" type of feel the mv conveyed is such a contrast since they've always been such a conceptual and theatrical group. the members were heavily involved in the production of this cb. ravn composed 5/6 songs of the album along with lyrics, leedo and seoho composed and wrote 'gravitation' in tandem, and hwanwoong is credited as performance director for the first time ever! i love that they're so involved in every aspect of their artisty, it makes everything feel like an actual gift from them to their fans and it also makes their body of work feel very cohesive. the "they're men now" during ravn's part made me lol, but it's the truth, isn't it? you can tell the members are so passionate about what they do, they've always done their own thing instead of going along with what's trendy just for a shot at mainstream success. everything is beautiful in its time and I'm so glad that oneus are getting more recognized and awarded accordingly for their talent and their hard work.

If you watch the behind scene, the water set was used for Ravn's one solo section and the backdrop with his reflection on it is actually sitting in the water. His first solo section, the green scene, is in the white dance space. The only truly unique space that wasnt repurposed is Leedo's first solo and Seoho's first solo with the movie lights behind him

Same Scent may not be my favorite title track or MV of theirs but it is by far their best one on both fronts, they have gone beyond being another kpop group trying to keep the lights on, they're a force to reckon with now. The fact that the guys had a lot more say and control in both this comeback and Luna says a lot about how artists should be a lot more involved in what they put out, regardless of how "good" people consider the final product to be the honesty is what makes the artist more captivating, even when you don't vibe with what they're giving you, you can't help but appreciate it, and this what this is, this is an honest piece of art that I can't help but love. I think they were geniuses for having less sets in the MV since the members are the focus, this is a song about physical and emotional contact so having so many close-up shots of the members makes you crave that intimacy, it makes you feel that desire they're singing about.

Not surprised, bc Zannybros basically produced all Oneus MVs, except LUNA and its B-sides (US Theatre). Surprising, bc Zannybros generally produces high quality Kpop MVs that are very, Kpop MV-esque. (Or at least the ones that I've watched)
