I believe the pronunciation is different because it reflects the way "idea" is said in greek or italian "ιδέα", which hints at possible mythology elements throughout the music video and into Heaven's choreo which has a formation similar to the "creation of Adam" painting. And as for the MV, 2 kids, criminal, and idea are all connected. The MV doesnt show the ending choreo in criminal, but he does in fact end in the Jesus pose. Criminal starts how 2kids ends, and idea starts how criminal ends.

You can hear it through your headphones?? PD, are your ears okay?? We had similar first reactions. Taemin said Act 2 was going to be brighter. This dropped as the title and I was like, “Brighter where sir?!” Fun note, there’s a homage to SHINee’s Sherlock in the shadow dance. He loves that song so much! Also IDEA starts off where Criminal left off (see the stage choreos). Taemin and the people who work with him are AMAZING!! I could be wrong but I think IDEA is a part of a Greek (?) philosophy?? Criminal and IDEA tie together as his journey to find his Identity hence why Identity is the last track of Act 2. Taemin described the forest as Limbo. I can’t compare the two! I saw it as this: In Criminal, the statue represents his “criminal” side (the idol celebrity side of himself he is trying to overcome or run away from) and it is immortalized like an object of worship kind of. In Idea, he starts out in that pose because he is that celebrity/idol at the beginning of the song but he is undergoing a transformation throughout the song and still struggling to move away from that perception of himself. (although idea is starting to grow on me very quickly as a "replay" song) i definitely prefer criminal for the catchy value + the music video is beautiful, but i feel that idea is absolutely on another level in terms of the fashion choices they made and the clear distinction between the sets (eg the heaven-like blue costume vs. where everything is on fire in the back). chore wise?? man idk, they're all ridiculously talented, both taemin and his dancers; and every performance is so different from the previous title track that you can't really compare them.

Criminal was a song that caught my attention on 1st listen with the sort of 80s vibe, and kind of disappointed me in terms of dance, etc. The lyrics were also very edgy which was cool. Idea was kind of letdown the 1st listen, and I only really liked the chorus (violin, the dark edge to it) but after my 2nd listen I was hooked and can now say I find it more interesting and more addictive than Criminal was to me, even though that song was catchier. I also tend to prefer songs that I don't love instantly because it means it reminds me of a lot of other similar things, so in that sense Idea is definitely more an original and more 'Taemin' since he likes to be outside of the box usually.
