One thing that I really do like is that SM is now finally starting to give their artists more freedom with composing and writing their songs. Mark and Taeyong usually always write their own raps and Taeyong has had his hand in composing as well. Chanyeol has also recently been able to write and compose songs as well as the other members writing lyrics like Chen did for Touch It. It'll be very interesting to see if SM are going to capitalize on this and give their artists more freedom with the music aspect. It definitely seems to me that that's the direction they're going b/c Taeyong is coming out with a song that he wrote and helped compose. (It's an SmStation). All in all the emperor of KPOP killed it and the album is amazing 👑

OK, so what you're seeing and hearing ironically "Follows" the lyrics of the song. The high pitched warbling wah wah sound is an instrument called a theremin is an electronic device made in the 20's associated with a lot of early American horror and scifi cinematic music. It was used to give a strange yet sinister feel of the unknown such as aliens, monsters and other weird aspects that didn't have a defined narrative back then. Think Frankenstein, the Mummy, Nosferatu and weird Ed Wood movies. The song is conveying this "Bride of Frankenstein" feel to it. As if he is the one who created this beautiful monster. Him being the being agt the center of this story and the creator also carries this tone of time. So, once you mentioned all these semi-circles and circles, with him in the middle going around and around, automatically shows him as the one not only controlling this monster but the one controlling her time and as such, being the center of a her world. The reflective surfaces with all the static electric visualizations also hearkens back that steampunk/electropunk ,industrial revolution of creating monsters and robots just like in the movie, Metropolis, which also had a female lead. So, I believe this was a more up to date neonsexual version, of those concepts.

You mentioned about circle, and I actually remembered some random info about circle :) TVXQ! are now on ongoing live tour which calls Circle. The whole album is so well-made! I like the other songs more than the title song, especially SWING, which features BoA. You should check it out! Also, TVXQ’s Truth is seriously a BOP!!! It was released as a 15th anniversary song, so they didn’t promote it. But it’s pretty different from the usual TVXQ title song style, and it’s sooooo gooooood.
