WOODZ actually mentioned using a ring light as they wanted to mimic the feel of early 2000s punk rock videos (ex. Avril Lavigne, who was an inspiration for this track)

what did he go through?
@aiko-channnn29742 жыл бұрын
@@kangseulgiisseulgibear1593 idk if I'm missing out any (the timeline might be messy here), but essentially he first debuted in Uniq, a boy group by yuehua when he was younger. But because of reasons (if I'm not wrong after they debuted china did something about their citizens, like they forced them to come back?? So uniq couldn't continue their releases cause in the group had 2 Chinese members), they went on a hiatus after they debut. Soon after that woodz debuted solo under the same luizy, released a few songs, before changing his name to woodz and went on to appear on a rap show called show me the money 5. He also produced some songs with his friends. His music was a bit on and off before he participated in produce X 101 and debuted in the group X1, but the group disbanded because the producers behind the show rigged the votings and final ranking, so the companies pulled their idols out of the group. He then had his "solo debut", which led to where he is now. That's what he went through throughout the years. Hope it helped!!

I hope that you react to the full Colorful Trauma album, because it's REALLY GOOD. All of the songs on it are very good, and I think that you will probably like it a lot. Thank you so much for reacting to "I hate you"! Woodz is my favorite Korean artist and favorite music artist in general for all the reasons you already mentioned. I can't even begin listing all the things about him and his music that I love, it'd take me hours, but I've never been this drawn to a musician in my life. He's something else and he's been proving his talent and quality constantly. I fell in love with his voice, his energy, his style and the creativity behind his music videos the moment I first saw the "Love me Harder" MV. With each comeback, he shows a different side of him that's equally as amazing and entertaining and it's so refreshing to follow an artist who constantly brings something new to the table. He's said before that he wants to be the kind of artist that will keep you guessing and he does it extremely well. You just never know what he'll do next. And for that reason, as a Moodz, I can honestly say, he's such a bright and exciting addition to my daily life. I love how bold and daring he is, I love how creatively he plays with muisc genres, I love watching him grow into a self-confident artist who isn't afraid to make the type of music he loves, knowing darn well not everyone will like his new sound. But I personally enjoy this rock concept with my entire being! I could write a book, as one can tell...

As a superfan of Woodz, I can't agree more. The shots in the video are ones that he wanted to try out (the ones from below for example) and I believe this was shot in either an art gallery or a museum. He had a certain look that he was after which is why he is in a case as art. I agree that there is a specific journey he wants you to go on while listening to his albums. And I agree with others that Hijack was my favorite track and that also speaks to the risks he takes as an artist. He premiered that song at an awards show where people play their popular song not something new. I love how his songs never sound the same (this album is no different) but they are still able to be clearly identified as a Woodz' song. I still like this song more than you, I think. Maybe it is because I have listened to this album so many time. That is my last comment, if an album gets better on repeated listens instead of tiresome, you know it is good.

pd, if you want to get a look into his brain as an artist and a person, i’d really recommend you check out the his ‘welcome to my baverse’ video on youtube! it’s a visually stunning experimental type documentary where he gets so honest about his struggles as an artist as well as a person - I’ve literally never seen a kpop idol be so vulnerable on camera about their mental health. it also features him talking to his besties kino from pentagon and seungwoo from victon (of which there’s some extra separate interview footage that i’d recommend as well)! i really think you’ll love his personality. now that i think about it, the contrast of seungyoun and his persona as woodz is just like what you were describing in the video - bright and fun on the outside but when you look closer really kind of heartbreaking?

initially, I said in my reaction that this and Love Me Harder were fighting for which one is my favorite title track, but now that I've listened to I hate you more, I think it is for sure my fav title track of his. for me, it was so overwhelmingly exciting to me that he was finally leaning into pop-punk because that's what I listen to outside of K-pop, so it feels like my two worlds coming together, in a way? it really holds a special place in my heart and I always get so excited when I hear it come on.
