Beginner to intermediate player here, I dig the brief and concise drill videos that I can immediately take to the table and practice, keep up the good work Brian, much appreciated.

Thank you for sharing. I agree that if you miss do not reset our star over, simply take on hand and continue, this way your brain gets the stimulation and thinks you're running to the drill from beginning to end.

Too often KZbin presenters show this drill, make it look easy, and they're done. Thanks for pointing out that it is NOT a beginner drill. I'm a decent player, but I struggle with this one. Thanks for the motivation to push through it.

I've done this on a smaller scale with 7 balls, 3 on each side, the 7th on the angle, and they're a bit closer to the pocket. I like that you say adjust as needed, and work up from there, adding balls, distance, etc... Thanks 🙂

I really appreciate drill videos, why? Because when I practice, I tend to just start shooting pool. The more drills I have to choose from the less boring they are lol. I appreciate the work you put in for the videos Bryan.

Harder than you think. I'm a beginner, so a lot of drills are not as easy as it looks. Love the channel Brian

I try different variations of this drill and it's very enjoyable when not playing against anyone. But never attempted the L variation of the drill. Always thought it to difficult but will try it.

I usually start from the balls parallel to the long rail. They give me a little trouble sometimes. Once I turn the corner though, I can usually finish the rest. Great classic drill!

Hi Brian! First of all, thank you for your educational pool videos! I'm loving these short videos yet informative that you have been uploading recently, so I'm just wondering if you could make more short vids (about 2 - 5mins long) about fundamentals according to each Level, ranging from Beginner to Advanced. I know there are already videos like I mentioned, but most of them are kind of old and the video length are a bit long, so it could be hard for new viewers to find them. Again, thank you Brian for your effort!

I will certainly look at doing that for you -just keep in mind our Videos are made months in advance so it could take quite a while before it actually gets published.

Great drill Bryan, going to try this later today. Would one way to reduce difficulty a little bit be to put say 3-4 balls on each line with a little more space? Thank you for the content!

Yes you can! Anything that makes it easier and allows you to ramp up is a good idea.

I've been struggling with this drill for months. It's so frustrating. Your tip to allow for ball in hand on misses does make it less frustrating though lol
@FXBilliards Жыл бұрын
Allow yourself to get through the drill with ball in hand as needed. And keep score as to how far you get or how many fewer times you need ball in hand. You will get there. My money is on YOU

Hey Bryan, another great video. I have a question. I have just started honing my skills using center ball. I really have a difficult time using right and left english on shots. I have not been taught properly how to use English nor do I fully understand how to compensate for it when potting a ball. How can you do this drill if you are accustomed to center ball only?
@FXBilliards Жыл бұрын
The only way to do this with center ball only, would be to start to the right hand side of the first ball- Shoot 5 Perfect draw shots -remaining to the right hand side of that ball and keep doing something very similar with the next five shots. You might be able to recover with a follow shot on some, - it is possible to get through the drill without English. It’s just much more difficult.

How does one “warm up “to this drill if they’re a beginner or intermediate?
@FXBilliards Жыл бұрын
Just allow yourself to take ball in hand if you get out of line, miss a shot or collide with another ball. Try to do better each time you go through the drill.
@yes2crypto Жыл бұрын
@@FXBilliards thx. I do similar when playing a modified ghost drill to track my progress. “Modified” because instead of race to [x] with normal rules, I get 2 pts for any ball made on break, optional ball in hand to start the run (+1 for not taking it) and then run out like normal. One extra BiH during the run allowed. One point for each ball made; double all points if I run the table. How it’s similar is when I miss, I stop tallying points but I reset the shot and keep shooting it until I’ve made that shot 5 times in a row. Then I start the modified ghost drill again.

I started this drill as a beginner but the change I made was to use 5 balls and use the first diamond from the end and side rail
