Varcardo Ricardo LOL!! 😂😂😂 You could be 💯 correct! For one, I should be finished for a few thousand $$$ less than what buying a regular one would cost. Once this is done I’ll drive it and list it for sale at the same time while I play with something else. The other side of these projects is really a hobby for me. I love playing with cars, I really enjoy a challenge, and filming and editing videos is a secondary love as well. I don’t do this to be “YT famous” or make tons of money, it just helps me channel my energy into something that isn’t hookers or gambling! 😂 When I’m done with crazy projects that make no sense I either have a ton of new confidence after accomplishing something I didn’t think I could do, or I walk away from a failure knowing I now could do it 100% correct the next time. I believe fully that people can do WAY more than they think they can and anyone with KZbin has access to more information now than the entire human race had 2 generations ago. If we’re honest with ourselves there is no excuse for not being able to do just about anything aside from “I’m not willing to put in the time and work it takes”. So go do something NUTS brother!!!!! 😁

Thanks! I had a Disco 2 years ago and I really liked having a quirky SUV. It was great to us and it made me miss having a Rover. The plan was to sell the black 2009 I built, but the thought of not having one until I finish the next one keeps me from posting it for sale :-) I need to figure it out though because my wife is going to kill me now that we have 9 cars..... LOL

Good one. Welcome to rovers anonymous. Please let me know if that 06 becomes a parts car for future reference. I would leave the grey parts grey on the black one and put some tires on it and take it places properly. If you are hooked...try a classic next - get a 92-94 super basic, but always kinky baby.

One day I'd love a restored classic Rover. That day will be the day I don't have 2 years of backlogged projects however! :-)

That dash is a fun job lol.

You're not kidding! I wish I had filmed all that it took to get the dash our of that thing! The service manual is written for the 2006 and the 2009 had extra bolts in places that double the amount of work involved...... All for one tiny little screw... Next time I do one I'll film it.

You have to a mechanic to do this, you get an amazing vehicle for $5000 US secondhand (new cost $250k in Aust) needs constant mechanical attention, next project could be a second hand turbo Bentley. (Need bigger $$$$$)

Did you consider doing the 2010+ facelift?
@RobTheCarGuy4 жыл бұрын
Not really, simply because I already have the parts needed so spending the $$$ on the newer lights didn't make sense. Honestly I'd rather sell this when it's finished and go look for a good deal on a 2011 or 2012 with timing chain noise and just fix the engine. I'm a lot better/faster with mechanical stuff than body work anyway. Plus then you get all the interior upgrades. Considering I spend 20 minutes a week looking at it and about 8 hours a week inside it, I can lie to myself and pretend it's a smarter choice :-)
