FORGOTTEN Truck In Cow Pasture With SEIZED Motor - Will It RUN AND DRIVE 1,500 Miles Home?

I've got a handful of old trucks sitting in a cow pasture in North Dakota. They've been there for years, and some of these I have no idea when they were on the road last. I'm looking to haul my 4 wheeler back home to Tennessee. I picked out a 1975 Chevrolet Cheyenne Super as my wheels. The problem is, it's got a locked up motor AND rear end. Will it run again and make the 1,500 mile trip?

I had the funeral for my wife of 38 years a month ago today and you were one the few automotive youtubers that she absolutely wouldn't miss... every friday night we would snuggle up on the couch for some good entertainment and learn a couple things along the way. The way you closed out this video about missing the wife and kids hit me right in the feels. Thanks for the hours of entertainment you gave us and keep up the great work.

Frying sausage on the wood stove, home brew haircuts, old office chairs in the garage…puts a sentimental smile on my face. Trust in Jesus Christ, not antichrist. + I hope and pray that folks change their view and invite the Lord Jesus Christ into their life to rule and reign. + Satan is referred to as the prince of the power of the air for good reason, he owns the airwaves on planet earth and is the god (little g) of this world. It is my hope and prayer that you choose the God (Big G) of heaven who controls the destiny of your eternal soul. + (Matthew 10:28 > And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.) (Proverbs 9:10 > The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.) (2 Corinthians 4:3-4 > [3]-But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: [4]-In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.) (Romans 10:9-10 > [9]-That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. [10]-For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.) (Romans 10:13 > For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.) (Ephesians 2:8-9 > [8]-For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9]-Not of works, lest any man should boast.) (Revelation 3:20 > Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and sup with him, and he with me.) Is Jesus knocking at the door of your heart? Is this your opportunity for eternal salvation? If it is, I hope and pray that you open the door and invite Him in to your heart and life, in Jesus' name. Amen! All glory be to God. Amen!

I saw your comment and wanted to offer my condolences. My dad passed away last year on the 28th of November. He had a stroke the day before Thanksgiving. One year later now I miss him a lot! My life isn't wrecked, but of course it's strange without him around. He used to have a '78 or '79 square body back in the late 90's. When my dad bought a '97 Chevy Z71 step-side he basically gave me the old square body! I had already driven that thing a lot before that and absolutely loved it! Can't remember if it was GMC or Chevrolet (basically the same). I will have another some day soon! There's lots of them all over the south.

One of my new favorite episodes! My dad had that exact truck when I was growing up; it brought back a lot of memories. (Note: A road beer sits perfectly on that steering wheel.) I live in North Dakota and it makes me happy to see Derek out on the prairie with a little snow in the beard wrenching on an old truck in a tiny one stall garage, no lift, with bad lighting, and carbon monoxide poisoning. Good times. All the episodes with his brother are the best. If you have never watched the white Chevy S10 episode, thats another winter classic!

@rustyfox887 I agree! Two tone or single tone either way! Those old square bodies are the best! We had about a '78 or '79 that was pale yellow with tan & brown interior. I loved that truck. A very strange situation led to us losing it. Too much get into but it was a hard time. I also had a 1980 Chevy custom van that had the coolest tinted side windows in the back. It had an Allen Bradley push button start, and the power windows on that rig were lethal! I lost that rig at the same time as the truck. Such is life!

This one got me choked up. My first vehicle was an '84 Silverado two tone blue and silver and had those same wheels on it. Learned how to work on vehicles on that truck and before being forced to sell it over some very unfortunate circumstances I had rebuild everything on the truck minus the bottom end of the engine. Watching this brought back so many memories and I can only hope I can afford another one to build into what I dreamt my first one could have been.

After highschool, very tired of the 'ol man on my hindside I went to work for a concrete contractor in 1970. Learned to be a finisher, started my own business in 1976. It housed and raised or family of 7 until I retired in 2001. Construction pay's pretty good so you're stepson is earning an honest living with his hands,, nothing could be more noble than creating something with your mind and hands that will stand for all to see and use for decades upon decades. We wish him a good life, he deserves it.

I deeply appreciate these full length videos. The "full" video, of bringing back a wonderful old truck, that deserves a second chance at life, is extremely enjoyable to watch. The longer video, full of both the more mundane, along with the witty, humorous moments, helps a feller to really feel like he's there with you as he watches. It's as if I'm right there with you, during the project. Thank you Derek.

I recognized some of the roads you travelled. Brought back some great memories. I powered through in 26 hours on Mars bars and cigarettes LOL! Keep it up. Currently playing with an 86 CJ7 that had the drivetrain rebuilt 25 years ago and it sat empty of any fluids so it took me a month of soaking and turning the motor over a 1/4 turn every day after soaking for two weeks. Removed all factory wiring, added MSD ignition and spark make it happener and she runs really good and making no suspicious noises. Drivetrain test next week.
