I have the edge evo ht2 tuner. Will I need further tuning if I install this or will the power levels be the same as the pre loaded tunes? ex: extreme tune 150hp

Hello, the Stealth STR will work with box tuners.

With removing mass is sustained load an issue when it comes to longevity due to heat? Obviously tuning matters most especially egt back down, just curious if sustainable EGT is lower due to this. Also when is it coming to LLY-LMM sounds like a fantastic way to update older trucks as their turbos age especially if towing is their primary goal vs top end horse power. Won't have the lightning fast L5P vane control. But If you can get response via the turbo mass instead of running rich to get the turbo up to speed seems like it could help these "dinosaurs". 😅😅

The mass we are removing on the turbine is in the blade count and hub. It is not the thickness of the blades or related to their ability to diffuse heat. You’re right on about moving this tech into our VVT and LML lineups. Look for a super quick VVT STR next. ;)

@@nickpriegnitz5895 You mentioned somewhere in your massive educational library, that lower vane count can make it more susceptible to surge. Obviously L5P you have your anti-surge adapter. But on these earlier trucks will surge be a problem? Any plans to increase vane height on like the LBZ to give a bit more controllability to EGTs when we're running peak power sustained on an aggressive grade in 115F weather? I'm just picturing a turbocharger similar to factory size allowing factory-like lug ability far exceeding stealth 64. With all of the responsiveness anybody could ever really want out of an LBZ. With the additional benefit of fuel economy gains from being able to run leaner and still have that level of responsiveness for a slightly more enthusiastic driver.

@@duramaxadventures5832 With regard to surge, the 2004.5-2016 trucks also have anti-surge mechanism. It's not a 'cure-all' but if integrated properly into oversized drop-in style turbos like our Stealth it will certainly do a lot to minimize surge. Good memory on the blade count vs Surge discussion. It's really a balance between inducer size, blade count and blade attack angle. The short answer is that on a compressor sized smaller like the STR we can get away with fewer blades because smaller inducers are less surge prone. We use fewer blades to try to claw back a bit of top end airflow. The LBZ Vane height in the Stealth 64 is already about 15% larger than stock (surprise!). There's a limit to how much more height is useful (2 reasons). 1 - Vanes heights different that stock require tuners to pay attention and 2- There's a 'vane position' where the nozzle is acting most efficiently on the inducer blade. Increasing vane height forces more vane position at low speed/load which may hurt efficiency in those ranges. We do our best to balance all of these considerations in our builds.

I'd like to know what is the "New manufacturing process"
@Duramaxtuner
@Duramaxtuner 4 ай бұрын
@KOSTASFK1200 We don't want to give to much away but the new manufacturing process provides a greater compressor wheel surface area. Similar to that of a point milled wheel.
