If the Philo gets the Damsel ability, the minions will be informed there is a Philo in play and have to guess the Philo, right? So if they guess the Philo as the Damsel nothing should happen.

They are informed a damsel is in play and they have to guess the damsel. This has been long a samizdat clarification of what "you" in character abilities refers to (the ability, not the player or their actual character) and we recently learned a formalized rule update will come for this soon.
