I think the unspoken thing is how bad Jeanie Buss is as an owner. She’s done absolutely nothing in that position and lets personal relationships determine business choices and the results speak for themselves. Magic gets full credit for that 2020 ring and once she pushed him out fully, it was a wrap. Joke franchise now so long as she has her hands in the decision making process

Going last trade deadline and the whole summer with no trade. The excuse being Pelinka wanting more time to “evaluate” the roster as Vanderbilt rehabs. That should be a felony. It’s outrageously stupid to wait for Vanderbilt to assess the team.

That stat around Lebron ranking as one of the worst plus minus players in the league is very telling. I've seen way too many clips of him not competing on defense expecting other players to cover his mistakes and then getting mad at them when they don't. That plus the constant trade rumors, it's really not surprising the role players aren't competing defensively. AD seems to have stretches where he can cover the defensive lapses, but that doesn't last and then his body language indicates he's over covering for everyone elses lapeses. And this is the result. An aging star taking up cap space that isnt doing his end on the defensive side, getting mad at his teammates, teammates not being interested because they're fed up of being yelled at by a leader not leading by example and being in trade rumors. Lakers are done unless Lebron and AD can step up and consistently hold it down on both sides of the ball, and the rest of the team step up to the plate too. But that's so unlikely at this point
@xxmaskedupjayxx30069 күн бұрын
Plus minus is the most misleading stat , you dudes need to watch something else
@HalfAsianDerp9 күн бұрын
@xxmaskedupjayxx3006 look, I agree, but he's bottom 10 percentile in the league with some of the worst players. There's just no denying that, especially when the eye test is also bad. Also, as mentioned above, the number of times he quits on the play and then gets mad his teammates don't erase his mistakes is astounding. It's bad leadership, it's bad for morale, and it sets a bad example. People follow their best players, and if you set a bad example, it's no wonder the team is one of the worst defensive teams in the league. Checkout Heat checks video for video evidence if you're still doubting

Do u think the nets would trade both cam and do for dalton knecht? I love the idea of them getting both wings off Brooklyn. That still leaves you the 2029 pick to throw into a trade for a center or guard that can fill it up.
@parkernichols97789 күн бұрын
And for those saying the lakers have no future after this you’re right but I feel like AD is there insurance when it all blows up because he will net them a young star or plenty of picks
@eliyarrows24567 күн бұрын
Definitely not. Knect is a good rookie, but his value is not nearly that high. What is his ceiling? Solid role player? Because you can’t trade 1 future solid role player for 2 current solid role players.

As a Lakers fan I think our window is closed even if we get another piece or pieces I truly don’t know if we can rely on LeBron and AD to be consistent top 10 players. On top of that I don’t think LeBron has ever been a great leader through his words but has been so great on the court and dedicated to his craft that he was able to be a leader. However at this age with his streaky performances and body language on the court, I truly don’t see him as a leader. There is no accountability and no one person that we can look at who will bring the energy this team needs. I do believe we can be a contender if we see more consistency from Bron and AD but defensively we need an identity and someone to bring energy to this team.

@Camb2r9 күн бұрын
The lakers entire situation for the past seven years but really last decade can be wound up in one word and that’s mismanagement. P hit on all the points from non development, irresponsible roster management, a non willingness to pay to keep good role players I.e Alex Caruso, javale, Dwight who we all knew could help the lakers in their coming years. I mean I could go on and on but it just makes no sense when it’s so simple to build a team around LeBron and then you have AD too so there’s really no excuse to be this bad. And now that they’re both older of course you can’t continue to put so much pressure on the two and then it just trickles down to the role players who can’t handle. They have mishandled their window so badly and now it’s to the point where the players don’t even give effort on the court knowing the roster isn’t good enough and yea there’s no excuse for that but even at it full potential this roster is second round exit at best.
@kingjaffe93398 күн бұрын
I’m not even a lakers fan but they just piss me off because of how incompetent the whole organization is. The only reason rob pelinka is the gm is solely based off his relationship with Kobe! Fans can blame the Westbrook trade on LeBron all they want saying he pushed for it,but at the end of the day rob is the one who has the final say in things. I mean just talking about this past offseason you didn’t do anything but hand out some questionable extensions and you had no money to work with because the only way you got people to sign last season was give them player options and who would’ve guessed all of them decided to option in cause they know they ain’t getting that money anywhere else! Just an absolute dumpster fire!!

What if they get vooch and lavine? Vando and wood get healthy what you think still cooked?
@HalfAsianDerp9 күн бұрын
Is that even a serious question. It's not the offense that's the problem, it's the lack of defensive effort and integrity. Adding two more offensive players that don't play defense won't change anything.

Id absolutely move the picks to compete. To those who say how we know this team worth it cuz if Bron and AD r healthy on the floor u competing. Last time it happened we won a championship. Bron Knecht Grant DFS AD Quincey Reaves Cam Sharpe TimeLord

Yes you are because they WON A CHAMPIONSHIP which OKC has not even done, AND the Lakers young core was not even comparable to Okc's. Shai is an MVP candidate and Lonzo got hurt anyway. Also Sam Presti is a way better GM than Rob Pelinka so yes you are crazy

If you think there was any chance of the Lakers winning another championship with Lebron, then you are delusional. The only way it could have happened, is if he took a dramatic pay cut. That way they could sign a good free agent. Every free agent they went after turned them down, because they don't want to play in Lebron's system. They all know that once they don't win, they get the blame. If no moves are made, then it's the coach that's the problem, or the front office. His entire career everyone around him has been the problem, when is it time to put the blame on the dude himself? Lebron has always been the problem, he has had more all star help than anyone ever, but he can't seem to win. He only won 2/4 on that stacked Heat team, got very lucky to get 1 off of the warriors when he was back in Cleveland, and didn't have to deal with all the travel, and got plenty of rest in the bubble. The guy is a fucking joke, just look at the pathetic amount of effort he puts in during a game. He is the worst superstar in any sport, ever.
@zaylew71229 күн бұрын
P what you're not accounting for is that LeBron is making 50 million a year. You can say "you cant rely on 40 year old lebron" but the dude is commanding so much money you HAVE to rely on someone making that much because roster construction is going to be a lot more difficult.

Nah, I’m gonna blame JJ Reddick too. They did the same thing with Ham, we ain’t gonna act like, he didn’t take them to the WCF. When you get that deep, it’s up to the players 9/10. Not to mention, JJ Reddick is throwing temper tantrums, they won’t listen to him. They quit on him several times already, they didn’t quit on Ham when he was coaching. It’s just flat out racism, I hope they fire JJ Reddick, the same way they did Ham.
@Imgonnapuke19 күн бұрын

@Camb2r9 күн бұрын
This makes no sense racism is the reason that Ham was fired when every black player on that team could tell you that the sets they ran never led to success.
@VictoriesAtTheMarathon9 күн бұрын
@ , You can’t run sets when you have LeDiddy James on the court. He’s too heliocentric, he only passes off drive and kicks, he would never pass normally unless if it’s obvious. Not to mention, they wanted to fire Ham 7 games into his coaching career. Ham was also a rookie coach, but the difference is he was experienced, and they had a great defense with Ham.
