Trading LeBron was never going to be on the table. Very very few teams have the capacity to trade for his contract, plus LA would definitely be asking for picks along with it because you're not going to trade LeBron for just matching salaries no matter what stage of his career he's in. Plus he has a player option in the summer so basically telling whatever team that would try to trade for him that you either are a top tier contender or I won't resign. So the team would just be throwing away $45 million in contracts plus picks for half a season of LeBron James. It wasn't going to happen.

We've made countless trades for this guy since he arrived. Championship winning teams generally DO NOT spend much time fidgeting with the roster because it negatively impacts continuity. We've made roster moves practically every year LeBron been in LA. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. We can't keep giving away all our assets for a guy that's 39. He is not entitled a championship. We have to WORK for it and that's something we haven't consistently done since he arrived.

An NBA season is full of ebbs and flows. I mean they did make the wcf last season and all season what did we hear: Lebron doesn’t have enough help. It’s the same song and dance every season. Why don’t they just let the season play out and see what happens. One or two injuries or an upset could totally change the outcome of a playoff(see ‘21-22 Warriors). Said it once, will say it again. LeBron is facing an awkward scenario. Don't get me wrong, still profitable and all, but like a lot of older great things, as they age and have been around, the shine starts to dull a bit and influence wanes. In 2004, the Lamborghini Gallardo was quite the car. But in 2024, it's still great but not quite as exciting. The Lakers know this & are smart enough to grant him the dignity to see out the twilight of this time there. Sometimes players, no matter how great, don't see the writing on the wall... and struggle to pinpoint exactly WHEN to hang it up. And sometimes, it isn't because they can't play anymore. it's just because it's time to move into something else. That's one of the harshest things about professional sports.

I could see an argument for that, but I actually believe Kobe was acting as a dark sith within the Lakers most inner circle. Kobe was guiding Jeannie Buss to fire Magic. Who was Pelinka's inside man to the Lakers organization in the first place? Remember how high of esteem Jeannie held Kobe's opinion? She even said, "I wish Kobe was here, he would know what to do". She held his opinion in very high esteem. Kobe was the king maker and puppeteer stringing along Jeannie and Rob to undermine Magic's incompetence. And guess what? He succeeded. Magic was dim and got exposed for being a blabber mouth who could not hold his tongue. Kobe and Pelinka forced him out using sith/mamba snake tactics.

Before the Harden trade the Nets had deep chemistry with the original squad they had, had they stuck to it instead of listening to the media and Harden, and made small changes to the roster the could’ve won the championship. With the Lakers they went away from what made them successful in the 2019-2020 season all they had to do was bring everyone back and make small changes to the roster that improved their streaky shooting while keeping the playmaking/defensive identity they had but the season they got eliminated by the Suns they hit the panic but and trade for Westbrook which everyone and their mama saw was a bad trade before it was even announced.

T think it's just Kobe stans, those are the only people that have problem with him. They're just used to Kobe. I'm not sure what exuding the Lakers culture would look like tbh.

@@makesmartTROYces I don’t think it’s just Kobe stans and most of those stans are probably Lakers fans too, because of Kobe or they grew up in that era. Saying they’re used to Kobe doesn’t make sense respectfully. Ofc they’re used to Kobe, because a generation grew up on him, he held a standard for the time he played here, and did his part in exemplifying what it was to be a Laker. I’m a local, and a born and raised Lakers fan. I witnessed LBJ get booed on TV by some folks at a TGI Friday’s once here, and that would’ve never happened to other Lakers legends like Kobe/Magic/Shaq. LA loves the Lakers. It wasn’t even a Lakers game on the TV, but a HS Football game for Sierra Canyon, where LBJ Jr. attended and showed LBJ Sr. watching the HS Football game in the stands.

@@Spider-Complexion I try to differentiate the two. When I think "fan" I think of someone who doesn't try to dim his light in comparison to Kobe. When I think of stan I think someone who would say "Kobe woulda hit that shot, LeBron isn't clutch, LeBron isn't a real laker, I never wanted LeBron anyways" etc. I remember when Kobe died, LeBron made a post about Kobe on Instagram. The comments were flooded with people saying he sacrificed him. I saw some Laker and Kobe profile pics saying it too, those are stans to me.

The Bron slander in here is crazy, but what did I expect. I do agree, same with any other player, that he should make the moves that best fit the ultimate goal and that's championship prospects. If the Lakers core don't work, leave! I hope he does too imo, I don't see them winning a chip with their current squad. He already got one chip and the tournament. Time to go play somewhere else.

The best decision they made was keeping this team. Bc they have everything needed it’s just the team hasn’t been consistent. That’s all it is whether it’s the coaching or guys in and out because of injuries, it all circles back to inconsistency. U makes trades and then you get worse, lose team chemistry, and if you don’t make a good run? It’s a total loss. I’m glad they didn’t do anything because they would’ve panicked again and made a terrible trade like the Westbrook era. Why disrupts everything you guys did last year… makes no sense

to be fair in the years they had Russ, LeBron and AD missed a very very very significant amount of time. 1st yr LeBron missed 20 straight & AD missed 40 straight. 2nd year AD was literally out over 1/2 the season, he missed 42 games & LeBron missed 26.

LeBron is an excellent lesson for GMs and owners. When your star starts thinking he's a shadow GM and starts "advising" team leadership, YOU SHUT THAT SH*T DOWN IMMEDIATELY. You let the player know he is an EMPLOYEE. That he should take his paycheck and shut the hell up. Next guy to do that is probably going to get a different response than what LeBron got.

it's because they're just Bron haters who don't watch the games nor look at stats. Bron is doing his thing. This is one of his better defensive years too. He's ofc had some really bad games, but he's also had some crazy games. People don't want to believe that a coach and the FO is at fault for this because it takes a little ciritcal thinking to realize that.
