You missed on Rui IMO. He can play bully ball at a high level, shoot midrange extremely well, and very skilled versatile defender. Most importantly, he proved to be clutch. He saved the post season. I think his analysis of Rui was a bit bad. He is a good player. The claim of being not good at anything was far fetched. Sometimes these analysts only exhault scorers, stars and flashy players but fail to see the importance of role players doing work on both ends of the court. He runs the break and spaces the floor well. He is an NBA player who is being utilized by the lakers for certain skills and it's not always about being a star shooting player or perennial starter with good shot efficiency. I take it they expect him to give them an avg of 14 points a season, defense and size when needed. He is also young.Something the lakers required heavily.

If Vando could just get to around 35% from three on a solid 2-4 attempts, it would unlock so much for this team. I’m the playoffs, it was his offense that got him played off the court. I’m happy they brought back DLo. He had a horrible WCF but people forget his huge plays vs the Grizzlies and Warriors. Without his personal 9-0 run in the 4th vs the Grizzlies, the series goes 2-2 back to Memphis, then he backs it up with a hot fire start in the clinching 6th game where he was the leading scorer. In game 1 vs the Warriors it was him who stop a drought from both teams giving the lakers a go-ahead bucket to steal that game. Game 3 he also gave them a boost to propel them to an early victory. One bad series doesn’t define him, I think the experience will make him better if he’s in the same situation again, it will also force him to work in his defense so that he’s not played off the court.

Been a Laker fan since I was 5 years old back in 2002 and watched every season with my fam. With that said, the 2022-23 Laker season was one of the most impressive seasons I've seen them do yet. Most of us diehard Laker fans were NOT expecting them to go far in the playoffs, at most the 2nd round. The fact that they went from 2-10 to making it to the WCF (even when they eventually got swept) is a big W. Folks forgot that after the deadline, Lakers had the best record in the NBA. And with most of their key players coming back and some improvements to the roster, I'm excited to see how far the Lakers can go this upcoming season.

I love this video cause people love to forget that teams that have Lebron, actually do have a GM. Yes Lebron has had input in roster decisions but it’s very disrespectful to Rob to think that Lebron is the one evaluating talent, going over changes to the cap, traveling to look at foreign players etc. Rob Pelinka has made some questionable moves but he has also been making some excellent moves which he needs to get 100% credit for.

LeBron's "LeGM" role is extremely overstated. The only time he really had more influence than a normal superstar player was in Cleveland the 2nd time but even then he still isn't the one making the final decision. but you spent a good portion talking about how Rui isn't that good. I disagree. He's a solid starter on a good number of nba teams. Him being along side Lebron and AD will keep him getting the clean looks he was getting in the playoffs. In terms of that role, he'll perform about the same because defenses cant key in on him and he scores it at all three levels. Mid range arguably being his best area, that means he's a catch and shoot threat, and can get to the basket or get to his spot on the floor and rise up. Rui is solid
