I’m back to this video again as I’ve fallen into hard times. This song reminds me of the hope and faith that used to fill my heart as a child. I would do anything for my inner child to be at peace again.

This was my favourite movie as a child. Was one my first memories of such. Every other weekend my parents used to rent it for me. Shortly after, my mother divorced my father and, as I recall, it was a really painful time for me. Littlefoot mother's passing used to hit my like a truck, since my mother was no longer among us. My brother and I stayed with my father after the divorce. After that, never have we rented it again. Boy, does this track bring me back to that period. It is truly a beautiful tune, and I'm trying to come to terms with it. I'm engaged nowadays, soon to build a family. This is a beautiful movie and, hopefully, I'm gonna show it to my kids, and they'll have the proper attachment to this movie.

Couple years your younger, but i am the exact same. This movie WAS my childhood haha, and the song's been ingrained in my mind since forever. Not gonna lie, some of my tunes out of music school were a little overly-sentimental ballad-like, probs coz of this xD

From heartwarming sappy, to adventurous, to happy, and finally to soothing and satisfying like if saying 'goodnight everyone', all in a 6 minute span... a lot of different emotions felt in just the end credits, after experiencing a lot of that during the movie itself. 5:06 a slight hint at the 1990 Universal Pictures logo music Horner would compose two years later.

Growing up with the direct-to-video sequels and seeing the commercials of them, I kinda knew what they all were. But back in 2012, we were at a library and they had VHSs, and they had the original Land Before Time movie. Nothing else to watch, I decided to borrow the original since it has a TV on the case. After watching the movie, I had no idea what I was expecting. It wasn't a musical, it was mature, it was scary at times and it was so damn emotional. But I absolutely loved it. And it's actually one of the few films that makes me ugly cry just for how emotional it is with the message of grief, and being independent on your own, and the fact that the actress who voiced Ducky died shortly after this movie came out. On top of that, the movie has such a melancholy feel about it. It's colorful, but it's very dark colors. But it's still such a beautiful film that should never be forgotten.

It's insane how different this movie is from It's sequels. The sequels are bright, cheery, and musical. This movie is dark, gritty, and pulls no punches. Only during the end credits do we get to hear a song, and it's one of the most beautiful songs of all time. The sequels are good, but nothing, and I mean NOTHING, beats the original.

I don't consider any of the sequels canon. Don Bluth had no say in any of them and boy dose it show. One thing I love about the orginal is how it didn't talk down on kids. It It even put some themes and messages you understand better as you get older. It taught some valuable life lessons in a way that didn't feel condescending or dumb down. As a result when we were kids this felt like a real grand adventure with intense drama that we still enjoy as adults. The sequels dumb everything down. You can tell the people who got the rights took one look at it and thought: "oh its just a kids movie about talking dinosaurs so we don't need to take this seriously because kids are stupid". If any of sequels were the first movie Land Before Time would've been forgotten.

Coming across this childhood classic as an adult gives me a whole new perspective regarding Littlefoot's family. You realize how heart wrenching it would have been like for his mother to lose him if the Sharptooth killed him instead. She had already lost her other eggs when when Littlefoot was the only one to make it. His presence was such an impact to his family because he at least guaranteed another generation of his kind to repopulate. It's hard to imagine how his own grandparents would have reacted if that were to have happened.🥺
@RegularInvader
@RegularInvader Жыл бұрын
@@katelynthewhitewerewolf6376 One thing to consider in his mother's perspective is the unknown background of her husband. She and her parents possibly believed he wasn't alive since he was absent for so long before and after Littlefoot's birth. It also did not look as if she met other long necks during the migration to the Great Valley. Even if she was able to conceive a whole new litter of offspring, she probably would not have it in her heart to "replace" Littlefoot, especially since she remembered how her parents reacted to the day of his birth.🥺💔 Who knows how heartbroken they would have felt if she reunited with them without Littlefoot by her side.🥲

@@katelynthewhitewerewolf6376 And keep in mind how Rooter came around to give off meaningful advice shortly after the death scene. It's unimaginable how Little foot's mother would have reacted because losing a child has a completely different meaning compared to a child losing a parent. Littlefoot at least had his grandparents to look up to as his parental figures. His mother, however, would not have someone to look after since there weren't any other children. Although a much later sequel revealed Little foot's father had been alive the entire time, there's no way of telling how he would have reacted if he reunited with his wife only.🥺😞

Somewhere in 1989-90, my dad brought home a VHS casette given to him by an office colleague and friend of his for all of us to watch. It was "The Land Before Time". At that time I was just 4 or 5 years old too small so I didn't think much of the movie. But when I watched it a few years later as a 12 year old kid, it was so overwhelming I just couldnt stop crying. Even the mere thought of some scenes would bring me tears - some sad and some happy and for days after, I just slept beside my mom at night holding her tight like a little baby like I never wanted to ever let go! Decades later as a 36 year old in 2021 when my mom was hospitalised in the ICU (for a critical condition which she has since recovered from), I just held her hand tightly while she was asleep and momentarily thought of the scene where littlefoot's mom passes away and I just wept uncontrollably! This movie, if anything, has brought me closer to my aged parents, even now as someone nearly on the brink of 40! That said, its a wonderful movie, a must watch for kids and adults alike especially in today's hate-filled world. Watch it. Spread love! Spend time with your loved ones dear people, cherish every moment and every living minute with them and make memories when you can! Don't know what you've got, till its gone!

Man, I love this song. I love Don Bluth's films! I met Don Bluth last week at Toon Con and he was telling me about how he was criticized for the dark tones in his films, but he wanted to share stories of loss and make people feel something. I could tell he was religious and he wanted to let people know through these stories that although, people die, it's just another stage our souls go through. This film felt like a beautiful sad dream for me and hearing this song always brings up this somber feeling within me. It reminds me the beauty of life. Well, that's how I feel.
