Man you should love it here, find you 3-5 agents to work with and they will keep you moving! July will be two years being here and I love it and planning on retiring from Landstar. My only complaint is trailers, it took a while to get my hands on a new trailer and I don’t do drop & hooks anymore. My goal is to get my own trailer but I am not willing to pay $90,000 for a 2023 trailer dry van!

Things are looking good so far in my first full week. I'm just focusing on getting through this learning curve right and get comfortable with the Landstar way. LOL Stay safe out there.

Welcome to the ⭐ Couple of things, of interest. While you're in Indy. Drop by the Flying J and grab some new decals ;) If nothing else, grab some quality numbers that stick better. And don't look like a mailbox. The print shop there does a great job. Trailer wait? It's a crap shoot. It took 24 hours for me, once I got on the list. But I know others that waited 7-10 days. Patience is really is a virtue here. And you'll find it tested in the beginning. Many of the agents will view you as fresh meat. Blowing your phone up, and rushing you to decide on a load. DON'T let them do it. There's plenty of time to make those decisions. You live in one of the best markets there is. You should do well.

Thanks for checking out my video. I've watched several of yours and I appreciate the advice. I laughed when I saw those mailbox numbers in the packet and made my own on the Cricut machine. The Flying J sells in Indy actual Landstar decals? I'm already prepared to have to wait for a trailer, and I live close enough that I will just go back to the house and wait. I've set myself up pretty good to be able to do the "hurry up and wait" game. Coming from being leased on to FedEx, this will be less stressful, but I'm sure there will be things that will test my patience. I'm sure we'll see each other out there eventually. Be safe.

There's actually a decal shop inside the Flying J. The guy does many of our trucks. And he provides a 3 year warranty on the letters and installation. I chose a 2 color design, and have had zero problems in 2 years. Even after repeated washings. Definitely less stress here. And very limited contact from Corporate. You are pretty much on your own, unless you make the call yourself.
