I like the angular design of some of the windows, and the sculptural feeling of the lobby space. It seems like a very peaceful & calming hotel in the midst of Manhattan. Thank you for making the video!

That hotel room is bigger than many NYC apartments.

Lovely hotel. I suppose because it is so high up, they cannot arrange for the windows to be cleaned immediately after the storm. Thank you for the video.

I agree the first window was filthy. I know windows can't be spotless 24 7 because of cost and not that eco friendly. but you would think the cleaning staff would notice it's looking a state because of storm and send someone to give it a quick wash as it's a costly room and the view is everything. Great video tho great camera work you don't just rush around the place and you show the stuff visitors would be most into. it's so interesting seeing different places around the world .

Excellent video as always! Some parts of the hotel reminded me of locations showed in a 2013 Latin American telenovela called "El rostro de la venganza" on Telemundo network (popular channel among us Latinos), very beautiful scenery.

Isn't this hotel used to be called The Setai?
@luxurytravelexpert9 жыл бұрын
+yvr2002rtw Yes, the hotel was constructed in 2010 as The Setai Fifth Avenue. But in 2013, the Hong Kong based Langham hotel group took over management and turned the swank property into The Langham Place.

Great video! How would you compare this to Park Hyatt new york? Im planning to visit in May and Park Hyatt has some ridiculous rates like 1200 USD per night.
@luxurytravelexpert9 жыл бұрын
+Tian Xu (swein1900) Thank you! This is my video of the Park Hyatt NY: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZmaQZGShmJV_jKM. The Park Hyatt is brand new, has a pool, is closer to Central Park, and feels a little more luxurious as compared to the Langham, although the latter is definitely a 5-star hotel as well. In fact, I prefer the Langham's style, but that is a matter of personal taste. If the rate of 1200 USD is for a basic room at the Park Hyatt, then this is way overcharged. Be sure to book via Virtuoso for some extra free VIP amenities (link in my review: wp.me/p4d1XU-u8S)

Is that an accessible room? I noticed a lot of extra handles in the bathroom.

+Leon Tompos windows were very dirty indeed :). A major rainstorm had swept through the area a couple of days before my visit.

I'm an co-owner of an apartment complex, and we clean the windows right before the guest comes. Of course we are talking about a hotel, but I'm sure the rooms are very expensive.

The hotel management might want to investigate that massive leak of white goo coming from the lobby's ceiling.

Just no. I would not for one minute look at any inch of this place and see any relation to the original and IMHO unrivalled Langham London. And as an escaped NYer, I find the location dreadful.
