We had a buffet back in the day called Sweden House. The food was decent but the gluttony and waste from the patrons grossed me out; hence, I stopped the buffet scene as a result. I have a low tolerance for waste as it relates to food.

Our country is suffering because we are a wasteful ungrateful nation. What happened to the Indian commercial when he cried over the garbage people threw on the ground? I am disappointed with the state of mankind these days. I pray that God will convert their hearts.

Hey Chef Jeffrey- while I enjoy taking a "break" from cooking - nothing like your own!! Lot of those buffets have you so bloated for days you definitely need a detox afterwards- and alot are " cookie cutter" with the same food items!!This year I'm being very intentional on ' what" and ' where" I eat!!Also trying to incorporate more exercise!! Chef Jeff I learned this lesson long time ago about going to buffet style restaurant. Every one goes to eat at these type of restaurants from time to time and they have plenty of foods choices at a reasonable price. People forget their taste biz and plies their plates with foods that doesn't taste good and forget their table manners when dining outside their home. I often wonder on how some people look "Did they bathe themselves before coming into a buffet style restaurant and standing over foods that everyone else have to eat?" I had seen it all. They forgot to wash their hands before touching and handling foods. Who knows where those hands have been at last. I watched a guy(customer) scratch himself in the private area and went to touch the foods in the buffet line. Be careful when visiting these type of restaurants.

Exactly that's why when I do go to eat at these buffet type eateries, I go early like when they first begin to put the bulk of their food out. Way before many of those unclean hands have a chance to touch those serving utensils and such. Sadly as I have become older I can't eat as much food as I once did back in the day though.

I cannot do buffet's anymore because I almost died from ecoli and eating some bacteria I had to stay in hospital for a week and had to have a home nurse for a month so everyone be careful at the Buffett

Very huge nice clean restaurant indeed! If I were to go to a place like this..I would narrow it down to my favorite things to eat...so I don't over do it....which would be the seafood🍤🍣🦀 section.. I'll go every now and then today but am very particular about what I eat cause as I said earlier it's not as good as it used to be and don't eat like I used to when I was younger. Jeffrey that's a lot of Different foods. When I went to a buffet I would ask them to bring me something fresh. They would and tell me to always let them know when something was wrong. They see it and then changed it. Say something they will do something. Nothing but love for you 🥰🥰🥰

I cook nearly 100% of our meals from scratch at home now that we are old and on a fixed income, but I have had a similar kind-of disappointing introduction to this type of buffet. I did go back, but selected only the things that were well-prepared and, I have to confess, mostly more expensive for the buffet to provide. I like my own cooking best!

That's a gigantic buffet!! Clean too --- Cannot stand buffets that aren't kept clean of spills. You're right about that buffet being more about quantity and not quality. When a buffet focuses on having so may options, quality suffers. Especially on things like fried fish -- The best is always made at home or when you got to a place where their fried catfish is a star on the menu - not an afterthought. Enjoy your retirement, Chef!! You've worked long and hard and now this is a wonderful new chapter in your life. Celebrate everything!

One comment. I live off SS with gas groceries utilities insurance maintenance for a senior on fixed income unless someone offers to take you out to eat a senior will have to eat mostly from a CAN.

Thanks, Chef Jeff, for the video. I agree. From what I saw on your plates, and from walking around, I do not believe I want to even go there. We used to eat in a very similar type of Buffet in San Antonio, and I just found it lacked love. You have to have love in your cooking! The buffets in Las Vegas are expensive but totally worth it. This did not even compare to Las Vegas, even though the restaurant was nice. The price is good at $17 though. You are correct when you say “Quantity over quality.”

I used to like buffets but since COVID I stay away from those places. I used to frequent a Chinese Buffet in my town it was very small about 20-30 items on the buffet and everything was good because they focused on the quality and not the quantity of food. I even got to know the owners personally.

Hey we had a place like that here in Lawrenceville, Ga. The cocktail sauce and tartar sauce is usually with the salad stuff. My husband and I didn't particularly care for it either. If we went there we would pick those items and have him cook it like you showed. That turns out really good.

That's a good lookin buffet! Reminds me of one they had in Joplin, Missouri. It closed not long after it opened. It had great food and was always packed. I often wondered why it closed. I do miss it!

Some dishes should not be put on a steam table because it will overcook or dry out especially fish and pork chops. That meatloaf looks dried out.

I will have to say... it was my thought all along when they first put up the signage for that place that there is no way they can do all that different foods and do them well... Not sure how the video ended up on my page...but, I am glad it did... I miss poncho's Mexican and finding a good Chinese buffet can be a bit tricky out here... but, that really didn't not inspire me to go... I wasn't much any way.. but, now I know... thank you so much for saving me and my family...lol They poured a lot into that place... but, the concept seemed doomed to me... it's pretty inside....can totally forget it was a Palais Royal for all those years... now... what will go where that Kroger was will be the next question...lol

Me too. I can eat maybe a cupful, so at the Chinese restaurant here, I order from the menu. You can take the leftovers from those orders but not from the buffet. They cook to order and don't fill your order from the buffet.

Just left this place. Selection is very large. It's probably the biggest I've seen. Like most buffets, its quantity over quality, but Feast taste better than the vast majority of buffets ive been to. Overall, id say one of the best buffets of this style thst I've been to.
