I opened this up for the first time on camera. So it's a bit of a first impressions/review of this unit. This has to be one of the lightest pedalboards I have ever seen. Let me know what you think. I cover the pros and cons in the video and the link is in the description. Thanks 😄

Hey Shane, maybe try pushing the leg caps on as far as they will go. Sometimes those caps are not fully seated, or on evenly.

Awesome review Shane! I'm getting one exactly like this, and this review made me feel even more confident about it! Keep it up! Love ur vids!!!

3.3 pounds = 1.5 kg. Light! 19.8" x 11.5" = 503 x 292 mm. Price seems right. Yeh, I took your tip and put the hook side of the tape on the board, the loop side on the pedals (thinking about pedals off the board going on carpet). Pity if the loop side is already on the board (but Todd Flowers found it wasn't pre-installed). Ta, Shane!

I own one. You get a lot for the price. I added a peg board top. Letting me swap pedals using zip ties. I like the legs and the angle it creates.

It looks like a decent lower priced pedal board… But one thing… what about room underneath to run a power supply? It looked like it was high enough to me to run it underneath? But great job as usual on the review.. You Rock Shane and so does your channel.. When I want a good review of an item I look to see if you have done one first.🤘🏻🤘🏻 Craig

Nice bag of extra bits there, not every brand does that! I have a similar sized Harley Benton board (Palmer do the same ones too) It doesn't come with zip ties or anchors but it has everything else and is stable. The bag is also actually really good. Very heavy duty zips! Their Kluson style tuners might be questionable but their pedalboards are solid! Haha :) Thanks Shane!

Great video, it looks really good for that money . Is there room on the underside to mount a power supply ?

I have this board. Got 13 pedals velcroed on top and a Caline P-1 pwr unit velcroed on bottom. 3 minis and a wah. Mostly Boss size with exception being a 10 band EQ mounted sideways. Fits in the bag just fine. I have strips of foam around the sides that I slip in to sort of protect pedals while transporting. My legs lock in tight and board is very stable for wah. Because size difference in pedals I use pedal toppers for ease of tapping on and off. Bought used of EBay for $47. Also for transporting I will pull individual pwrs out and curl up underneath so not to damage. Gets edges of board to be neater in bag. Just giving ideas to save others pedals and boards. Also left a couple daisy chain hook-ups underneath so I can actually hook 16 pedals and a tap tempo on this board. 1 pedal I won't put on board is the volume pedal. That hooks up in beginning next to wah.

Interesting note Shane I have the very same board and the Velcro wasn't installed . I am very satisfied with it for the price . Nice demo/review as always mate ! ( You don't have the legs all the way out by the looks of it ,they do kind of click into the "locked" position.)Cheers !

How would you mount the power supply? On top of the board?
@markdakel92535 жыл бұрын
Hopefully the manufacturer will watch and listen to your review and make some adjustments, the review was honest and to the point, the board would be a nice addition in a gig but seems to need a bit of tweaking

Cool review, this board is a great bargain....the stickers are of Central American origin, more specially Dia De Los Muertos. Nice segment

I miss seeing a way on how power supplies would be attached below it. It's a pretty big deal that can make or break it's usability.

Hmm, the wobbly legs puts me off, partly as I'm guessing it's due to the board being a little warped, which is not a good sign. Also, checking the reviews on the Amazon link, quite a few people are saying that the bag isn't deep enough to fit in a lot of pedals, especially if you have a wah at the beginning of the chain. Also, some are moaning that the bag is not padded enough. Conclusion, for the price it might be worth a go if you're on a tight budget, but personally, I think I'd spend a bit more on a slightly more sturdy board with a more padded bag.

I've got this board. And I got 13 pedals on it with EBS flat patch cables. Mostly Boss but do have a wah. Goes in the bag just fine. Have Caline P-1 pwr unit mounted underneath. Only special thing I do to transport is disconnect pwr outs from top side, tuck underneath, slide into bag and cover with towel. I do have slits of foam on each side for cushioning during transport also. Everything fits fine, room to move around in bag. Always cautious moving this around though. Great board I bought used for under $50 including velcro and bag. Guess someone didn't like what I love!

It's interesting that most of the complaints are about the bag, not the board. ;) A short video of the board in use would demonstrate whether those legs are anything to worry about.
@PooNinja5 жыл бұрын
the bag could use some upgrades but at that price its forgivable. The board itself looks very nice. I'd like to see your thoughts after gigging with it a few times:)

But does it fit back into the bag with the pedals on it? Especially the wah......

Yep, it would fit fine! I will make a mental note of that for the next time. Great suggestion.

Yes! I have this board with 9 pedals plus a crybaby Wah. Fits in the bag well!

Seems like a good value! Only problem is if i bought one it would only encourage me to buy more pedals, bit too big for my 4 pedals :P

I gig three times a week with my acoustic duo. I’ve been using a soulmate ACOUSTIC multi effects board, a volume pedal, sonic maximized and a sub n up octave pedal. I needed a board that could handle all that and leave room for more. I bought the larger van Gogh board. The larger boards were suppose to come with much more dutiable back pack style bag. Mine did not and came with the paper thin bag! I saved up and bought a Temple Audio pedalboard bag! Overall this board is great, but I have to get creative in hiding Excess cables and cords wunderneath! Zip ties are your friends! Shane, can you do a review of Barefoot Buttons?

Someone posted a coupon code in a forum and I got one of these from Amazon for 23 USD (33.88 AUD). Didn't have the instrument cable or the stickers but otherwise the same board with the case, velcro, and three patch cables. It is very, very light. It should have enough room for a power supply underneath, too, but I haven't looked at that yet. The zippers on the case seemed okay to me, but I have a hard case anyway.

There's a reason why Pedaltrain started adding a 5th rail. If you have a lot of mini pedals, you'll find out real quick that there's too much space between the rails on the 4 rail design.
@peterschmidt99425 жыл бұрын
Shane, starts getting a bit pricey when you import into Oz. Swamps got one for about $130 with the bag. I've actually been thinking of building one with T track's based on that last pedal board review you did.

Not sure how you use a pedalboard like this with things like the power supplies. It seems to me that they should really have it open on the bottom and angled through holes, so you can route power to the below deck level. A full review where you build and power your rig and take it on a gig would be super

Question: im not typically a pedal guy but why do you need a store bought metal board? Why not just stick the pedals on a peice of wood)
@intheblues5 жыл бұрын
You can do that if you want. Many people make their own boards. Some people just want something tidy and convenient and they might not have the tools or time to make one.

The weight isn’t leveling that thing. It’s easily tweaked and will collapse over time. It’s a race of which will break first: the cheap hinged legs or the board itself.
@57ebartley5 жыл бұрын
Think I wouldn’t even consider that one being that it was wobbly right off the bat. Don’t like those feet. I just about stand on my wah pedal at times. I’d collapse that board in the heat of battle. Never had any problem with my pedal train...
@markferguson37453 жыл бұрын
They make a lot of stupid$ $ boards these days, but I greatly prefer cheap, light, open designs like these.The travel bags are usually garbage, but hey, - just replace it. I just use hardware store, tin ,plumbing/ utility strapping for the power supplies on the underside; you can't normally see it, so pretty dosent matter.Better to spend where it matters, like the cables, power supplies, and pedals themselves.I noticed some time ago that the players I like, - who can actually afford them, or get endorsements, - don't even use the high end products.

How is it being light a trade off for the imbalance? The imbalance is a major turnoff. I see no reason for it being light.

Is this board made in China? Not only is China committing genocide and harvesting the organs of political prisoners, but buying merchandise from them puts people in your home country out of work. If someone has a recommendation of a board not made in China, I am interested in hearing it.
