The Lark (Glinka/Balakirew) - Signature Grand Demo (Steinway Model D)

'The Lark' was originally written by Glinka, a Russian composer born in 1804. Later on, Mili Balakirew paraphrased a number of Glinka's works through Piano solo pieces, The Lark being the most widely known of them. This recording features The Signature Grand piano by Simple Sam Samples.

This rendition of Balakirew's piano transcription of 'The Lark' by Glinka features the default Classical preset. I was rather surprised by the tone and character to say the least. So far I've only played around with Classical presets, so can't comment about other genres just yet, but if you're asking for my opinion? It's way more convincing for this type of music than say....Grandeur type of libraries. It's not as clean and sterile. Maybe within a mix those things don't matter, but for solo works I would want to have a little dirt and room character.

@@777Witness I don't have one single favorite but in general for Classical stuff I like Ivory pianos and Noire from NI. I haven't tried CFX Garritan and the more recent one from VSL just yet.

@@InTheMixReviews That's my big problem I don't have a solid practice routine... I need a solid resourcebor program do you have a recommendation. I know my scales major and minor, not diminished or augmented. And I would like to know how to make runs without breaking concentration on my left hand. 😔 Also chromatic runs in thirds and seconds and Fourths is my dream goal. Basically, what you can play😎👏👏

@@ArgoBeats I agree about the dynamics as i felt i press softly on the keys and occasionally it doesn't fully register as soft, except that it sounds absolutely fantastic and realistic and it's not a big library either which is great because Garritan and such take up so much space which is a bit bothersome but the Garritan CFX is my favourite overall but the Signature Grand is awesome for it's price and size

Aside from iOS instrument apps, Signature Grand is my only piano library in that price range and it's really good. I haven't tried other piano library under $55 myself. Be nice to hear about them though.

I'm not nearly as skilled, but definitely the Embertone Lite. Unlike simple Sam it doesn't require the full version of Kontakt.
