Last 5 games AOC went 9TD 1 interception. He’s accurate, can read defenses, has very little ego, and beat the shit out of the division. He recognizes the situation and keeps rising. He’s the dude, we see it, that’s what the players say, and the administration is all in. Still, people talk shit and just assume he’s a nobody. That’s just not the case. He’s real. We’re com’n. Appreciate you talking Raiders, pretty optimistic take all things considered.

Bru like 6 of those TD's came on a team that quit on their coach not to mention he kept starting drives in scoring position cuz our defense was going crazy & a meaningless game against a team playing for draft position while we were playing for AP job The real AOC is the guy that got shut out coming off a bye week, couldn't complete a pass for 3 quarters in a NFL game fuckin pathetic & couldn't sustain a drive for shit in a game with our playoff lives on the line AOC sucks we're in for a big reality check if he starts, at least with Minshew we have somewhat of a chance

@@R8erRay510 All games with AOC have been competitive. If a team quit its because we made them. Not to mention he had half a playbook to work off of still pretty much under the McDumbass system. Like I said bro didn’t even have the reps and it doesn’t matter how “genius” the other players are if the qb can’t throw. You’re going to tell me that Jimmy G is better than AOC? Gardner has just as much to prove as AOC. If AOC can play “good enough” considering the new weapons we have around him and a new playbook we could make it and even win a playoff game. I’m not saying AOC is the definitive future for us(that has yet to be seen) but I’m at least going to give him a fighting chance considering the much more competitive games we were able to put up.

Neither Qb is an immediate superstar…but the situation isn’t as dire as it’s painted. O’Connell played on half a playbook, no offseason snaps as a starter, a rookie oc, and an interim HC. Not going to say he’s the next Peyton Manning, but he COULD be the next Flacco.

He played with half a playbook bc he didn’t understand the playbook and they had to cut it down. ao did not flash TOP TIER talent, many people say he’ll be alright if given xyz. We went thru 9 years of DC and excuses, why would so many want to go down that path again with subpar/average at best qb performance? Improve the qb talent and this team does so much better. If the off is not able to sustain drives how good will our defense be when they’re in the field 35+ minutes a game?

Position by position I think the Raiders stand up to any team in the league. The QB’s from this past draft are not all locks to go to the HOF so I didn’t lose sleep especially when you see Bowers highlight reel. Can’t wait to see what AOC or Minshew can do with these skill players. Even if one of the QB’s throw a pick, the Raiders defense will get the ball right back!!

I watched garner minshee put the ball into the hands of the playmakers on the colts. Pittman is a baller and his numbers continued to look good. I'm confident he'll knock it out the park with all these ballers we have in offense. Our WR is stacked

Raiders need to rebuild! As an older fan that wants them to win again I say tear it down and rebuild. Gruden and McDaniels really damaged the Raiders future. We are 2-3 years away.

I disagree Minshew being better than O'Connell. He has been at it a few years longer but that is it. Compare the two in college games. Aiden scrambled better, but @Raiders he was told to stay in the pocket so he did more than he normally would. Aiden has better aim, and throws about 5 yards more with that accuracy. Go watch the tape. Compare them. Maybe since Minshew got stronger playing in the nfl he now improved his distance but his games like the Colts did not show it. Most his longest balls went bad. Here is our biggest problem- Aiden is like Carr and like Brady in that they are all pocket passers. Pocket passers depend on a great O-line which we haven’t had in 20 years. Sure we had one amazing lineman but only one at a time. Miller currently.Having a GOOD O-line is enough to get you to a playoff game at best. And when DC4 had great receiver to throw to and the oline was good- thkse are when we got to a play off game. If you want to WIN play off games we need top 5 oline to give pocket passers the time to stay in the pocket and make it. Watch what happens to Mahomeless when his Oline is doing poor from injuries- they loose. And he has pocket passer accuracy with insane scrambling ability. Because they could not get a better QB- they went best available player and that was our new TE which then means with two really good TE, we can go in the 12 a lot of the time to give the qb some blocking help or secondary check down help. Look up the time Tom TUCK Brady had in the pocket and compare that to Aiden so far. Remember brady had years on the bench to learn everything behind the scenes and devolop his skills. Once he hit the nfl field he was light years above his college level. Aiden hasn’t had that but it was McDummy’s plan to do that with him. Aiden is 90% what brady was coming out of college. He doesn’t have the arm strength but has better accuracy than he did . Thats why they got him. Give Aiden the Lineman and he will perform with these amazing TE and the best WR in the league -17.

everybody thinks this we got a bad quarterback room. You guys went around to see certain things. Jim Plunkett didn't have great numbers. The reason why he was good is because he had a great defense that can carry his ass in the super bowls. His best year was 20 touchdowns, 18 interceptions. What does that tell you? Not good but enough to win. Winning is all that matters. . Look. Dan Marino greatest NFL quarterback to ever live. Was he off the show for it? Nothing. It's all the best stats. All the touchdowns but stats don't win you games do they. A great defense and a smart enough quarterback will when super bowls

😂 different players, different times. Those teams would beat this team into next week. Plunkett is like Flacco, Eli, once they get into the playoffs they shine. Regular season was a struggle but show time they balled out. Those teams were 💯 better than these teams today. There's no more Ravens, Bears, Tampa, defenses were your QB was just asked not to turn it over and punt. The Raiders defense is good but there's defenses just as good or better. Then it comes down to which QB can make plays in those games.

No matter they might want to spin it they had no intention of heading into the season with this QB room. To quote Antonio Pierce:""I would hope whoever we draft, that's the route we go, that's who the starter becomes ..." . Unfortunately no one dropped to them. Now, they could just swallow their pride and grabbing a guy like Ryan Tanehill still sitting out there.Instead they seem determined to move foward with a backup and developmental prospect into week 1. Complete fail for a team with veteran guys and enough talent to want to win now.

Did you ever stop to think that the coaching staff might know what they're doing? Most of the fans denigrating AOC have never even seen him play once in college but they're experts based on a half-season when he was thrown to the wolves and hadn't even taken any reps as a starter and was using a truncated playbook with a first time OC. I don't know about AOC any better than anyone else but I did watch him play some in college and he has talent, his best trait is accuracy and he has a good arm. I think we did the right thing in not giving up a ton of assets for the 4-6 best QB prospect and if AOC doesn't pan out Minshew will start and it'll be back to the drawing board next year, it sucks but that's reality. He moved around the pocket pretty well in college but it looked like he was told to look for the first 2 reads or get rid of the ball and avoid turning the ball over so it's hard to figure out what he'll look like this year. I have a feeling he's better than the staff thought he was and they're going to give him a shot this year and that's the right move. He did his part and transformed his body and spent the entire off season at the facility so we should see by the 5-6th week.

@@jameshannagan4256 Response was well thought out. Problem is Raiders schedule 1st 5 weeks is brutal could be 1-4 with Minshew as your savior. By the time they get done kicking can, the veterans will have aged out and will need a complete rebuild. You want to give the young guy a shot fine, but bring in a viable starter just in case to keep the team competitive.

@@Omar-ni5sf Personally I think if they were really married to trading up and drafting a QB they should have traded Adams and tried to package that with additional picks but you can't trade with a team that is set on using their pick to draft a QB themselves. The team is still young even Maxx is only 26 (hard to believe) and this is probably the best roster since the early 2000s with a good young core and a good cap situation going forward. What I really think is our long suffering franchise needs a bit of luck, we need to get a lucky break and get a good QB the unorthodox way either by drafting well or trade or FA. Why do you think i'm pulling so hard for AOC but I will say the more of his college games I watched the more surprised by him I am. He's not at all what I thought he was (so much for relying on media) he was a reckless gunslinger type of QB who needed to be reeled in and rebuilt into a more conservative game manager. Call me crazy but we may have gotten lucky with him and if we did we're well set up for the future.

@@Omar-ni5sf I think game 2 at Balt. is going to tell us a lot, obviously winning would be huge but playing well would put us in position to believe in ourselves early and stick it through the tough parts of the season. If we can start 2-0 things can snowball and it could be a fun season. Us older Raider fans deserve a break (i'm 59) i'm sick of being joked about and it's time for this team to start winning again. I'm encouraged by the new (old) approach to actually build the teams lines and have a defense that can win some games the offense struggles in it does remind me of the old Raider teams who never really had the best QB play but did everything else well especially play defense.

AOC SHOULD start the season. If he's can't do it then you bring in Gartner we'll be good but you can't win a Chip without a great QB in "this " 2024/25 NFL there are too many great quarterbacks in the AFC right now

@@toyasparkman9727 Very easy, Mahomes, Burrow, and Allen. He's right there are a lot of really good and good QBs that have a chance to be up there at the top. Hopefully AOC is the real deal because we might squeak into the playoffs with Minshew but we're not going anywhere afterwards.

@raiderswish I don't think anyone is arguing he's elite. Just that he is above average but has never had the team around him. In 2016, when he had that great offensive line, he was top 10 in the red zone. At the end of this year, when his line gave him a little more time, he was top 5 on the red zone. For the year, he had the 8th most touchdowns in the red zone. Red zone efficiency is heavily dependent on coaching, running game, and offensive line play. Very few years in his career has he had those things in his favor. The problem is that there is no middle ground when discussing him. Either he is trash or he is elite. Neither is true, but he is better than most people give him credit for.
