this version is being slept on to be honest. The best version of this show I've seen, even better than the movie!

I have been watching / listening to L5Y for the last 20 years and I STILL go back and forth on this. It really comes down to two people who may or may not be compatible or may be compatible but are experiencing life and their expectations so differently. If I had to choose though, I think that Jamie might be slightly more to blame in that Cathy clearly has needs and just wants him to try being present a little more, but he is so caught up in his career and his writing that he doesn't see it. She tries to be the "cool, easy-going wife" but, eventually, she realizes she needs to speak up. However, Jamie, rather than taking a step back and trying to fix things, is so caught up in his career at this point and doesn't know how to balance being the successful writer and the doting husband and instead takes it as her not appreciating his career and breaking his balls. This drives Kathy into a bit of a desperate mania. So she might seem a bit crazy, but it's because she knows that she should be allowed to ask for these things and probably should have long ago. But, in trying to be patient and understanding for so long, she allowed him to neglect her.
