I do not think you’ll be disappointed by Bookshops and Bonedust! I was a little nervous because I thought it would be war-heavy too but it’s *very* similar to L&L

Oh my god you FINALLY picked up a Kate Morton book! I'm so excited for you! She's not everyone cup of tea but she's one of those authors to me who consistently produces good/entertaining reads. I really like her books and hope you love them too!!

Yes you need to read The Appeal first (I enjoyed it 😊) I didn’t enjoy The Twyford Code as much
