6 years ago, i watched you win your first. i thought it was crazy how amazing you looked and up until i saw you onstage, bodybuilding was about power. Power over oneself, power of discipline and determination, all of it. Your routine showed me that bodybuilding is art. It completely changed the way i feel about the sport, but also myself. That my angst in the gym and my need for improvement was an artistic expression and not a need to exert power over myself. I started following your social media presence and have watched almost all of your videos. You are the reason i have watched olympia for the last 6 years and it has been such an amazing thing to watch you on and off stage. I was not surprised you retired but it is definitely an upset. i'm equally happy for you as i am sad not to see you on stage again. The last dance - you just uploaded the video on KZbin, and it made me cry. I’ve been following you on Instagram for the past 8 to 9 years. When you post portrait videos of yourself posing with long hair and checking your progress, I often see your mother in the background doing chores at home. The very first video of yours I watched struck me deeply. Your body composition and posing perfection really impressed me. I’m a natural amateur bodybuilder, so winning is tough when competing against guys who use PEDs. I failed in my very first competition, even though I worked my heart and soul into it. Back in 2017, I won my first competition in my category, placing 1st. Winning on stage, smiling with the trophy-it’s a different and addictive feeling. From that first victory, I owe you a debt of gratitude. Your posing style inspired me so much that I adapted it-the way you turn, do quarter turns, and execute the vacuum and everything. After that win, when everyone congratulated me on my posing, I would silently thank you, as your influence was always present. From then on, you’ve been the only bodybuilder I’ve ever looked up to. There’s also another reason I feel connected to you-I think we have almost the same personality. Years have passed, and you became an idol. A lot of my friends encouraged me to start a KZbin channel to share my knowledge, but I was very shy about it because I don’t have a very social or vibrant personality. Even in that field, you inspired me. Your KZbin channel motivated me to start mine because you’re simply being yourself in it; the way you speak, you are just expressing who you are. I don’t know what to say or how to convey my gratitude and admiration. Maybe we’ll never meet in this lifetime, but I believe love and relationships have a power that goes beyond that. They can endure and stay alive for eternity, which is what makes them special. To me, you’re family. With love, Akash
