Sad to see the original platform go but the replacement will be impressive and it's certainly needed. Bank seems to have been under a constant upgrade since the 90's- I wonder if the new platform will suitably be adorned with silver gaffer tape, missing panels, blue hoardings and exposed wiring to fit in with the rest if the station?

There’s always a certain degree of nostalgic sentiment that comes out when you see a familiar sight for the last time, not unlike the last time I used Angel and then went back a couple of years later and it had all changed. However, to be honest, rather like Angel, the station needed wholesale changes. It was an irritant when people were constantly walking through as you waited for a train on either platform, and a bit dodgy when in rush hour, so this upgrade will improve things greatly I am sure 👍

It’s sad to see the northern line southbound platform go but they do need to improve the station drastically. In opinion that isn’t the only northern line station that needs a platform extension. Moorgate needs another platform for the northern line, Old Street needs to have a platform extension as well, Clapham North Clapham South and Clapham Common as well need platform extensions. And on top of that another nine needs three extensions. One from Battersea power station to Clapham Junction and beyond. Two from From Mill Hill East probably going to Mill Hill Broadway and even maybe Saint Alban city (nation start a second platform at Mill Hill East station as well and the second track). And the third extension should be from Edgware to Bushey Heath.

Yep, I do find it surprising that those Island Platforms at Clapham have survived so long. I'm sure TfL would love to do what they did at Angel and Euston and put a separate platform in at some point, although they are a nice little historical quirk if you can see them when it's quiet.

Well its not forever but they will fill in the platform and there is doors to the new one

I wonder why Northern Line southbound platform 3 at Bank is to be closed off and filled in to make more extra space and a new southbound platform 3 to be built. And the existing northbound platform 4 will remain as it is.

I see you've already watched my other video that shows the layout change: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f5uZe5h8pJlrias I think the reason they moved the Southbound platform and not the northbound one is because it means the Northern Line will be either side of the DLR platforms underneath, which makes the connecting tunnels and new lifts much simpler.
