I am an old man. The Rolling Stones are the soundtrack to my life. These fabulous young women are the best thing I have seen and heard since forever. Rock on kids xx

Agree, I am old, too. Remember when the B52's came out and I was one of the few who got hold of their record in Berlin (west) in 1979. Since and before, heard brilliant bands. What TLDP do is amazing, Hazel O'Connor, Kate Bush, Bjork, dare I say it, "Queen", Siouxsie, early Blondie, and many more. I hope they realise, whilst all very talented in their own right, have been blessed by fate to have met each other....

@@TheBobbymcd Yeah, it is difficult as they’re both fantastic and seem to fit the band’s sound and aesthetic perfectly with their combination of power & subtlety with just the right amount of flare & flash.

Great to see this from the front as I was literally the last person to the far right of the stage. Didn't think to get there early or that it would be so packed three deep round the gallery.

What an intimate, heartwarming performance! ❤ Especially after the debauched pomp of The Roundhouse the night before! Beautiful Boy, Mirror: both exquisite! Sinner: a winner! It’s so rare to see everyone in shot at once - including the lovely and amazing Rebekah (the ‘fifth Beatle’ of TLDP). Abi, Tara, we need a TV special, please, in a tiny, private venue such as this, with a hushed audience - and maybe even an acoustic On Your Side (from Elliot In The Morning) for good measure! Thanks so much for uploading! Guys, you were divine! 😁

A few of the guys in the FB group who have chatted to them at the recent signings have said there's intimations that Rebekah will be joining the band permanently. Hope so. She's such a good fit aswell as being an excellent percussionist. Got my tickets for Liverpool. Now contemplating the second show in Dublin too. I can fly there from Newquay and then on to Liverpool. Beyond excited.

Dublin would be good fun! 🇮🇪 I’ll be at Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool. Hoping some work-in-progress gigs pop up too. There’s a lot of new material to try out for Album Two. Be quick if you want that Dublin ticket! 😊

@LiveInConcertUK Haha. Looks like I'm struggling for Dublin. First date sold out and second date already low. Unfortunately I'm travelling upto Liverpool today by trains planes and automobile and won't be able to book until after 3. This is mad😀 Have they put in a second Manchester date too?
@LiveInConcertUK
@LiveInConcertUK 5 ай бұрын
@@alanadams7071 Looking at the schedule, there’s a gap on the 13th after Liverpool. The Liverpool venue is free that night but Manchester isn’t. It’s also possible they might add some dates between Belfast on the 18th and Newcastle on the 23rd. Extra shows in London too. The venue is currently free.

@@alanadams7071 And they’ve just added another Manchester date on Saturday 21 September. So, I’ve booked that too.

It was disappointing that they only played a shortened set with no encore. No Second Best, Godzilla or Big Dog. They did imply they were a bit tired but 45 mins is a very short gig.
@bensonrad
@bensonrad 5 ай бұрын
It was record shop outstore gig, they tend to be lot shorter than a regular venue gig, usually free with the album purchase, I went to the Brighton one in the record shop and that was 4 songs and just over 15mins. Most of the Outstore gigs I've been to, have mostly been about 45mins, an hour at the very top.

To be fair it was the full normal set, basically the album minus the classical bits.@@bensonrad

They make me wonder the same thing Wet Leg made me wonder: How many of their audience are people their own age? And how many are creepy old men? Sorry, but this does NOT sound like anything that's making the charts in 2024, or anything that teenagers or twentiers are listening to at all - there's no BEAT, and it's really "white" in melodies and chords. It literally sounds 50 years old, like Kate Bush singing early David Bowie songs. One of the band members said "We're a bunch of old dads in gorgeous young bodies," and she wasn't kidding, and was pretty damn accurate. And yeah, it sounds good to me, but I'm old.

New mainstream music is pretty bland so the old stuff is making a comeback with younger audiences. And now they have someone their own age playing the music they love rather than having to watch creepy old men all the time. If you go to one of their gigs it is a mixture of young adults and creepy old codgers like me, but predominantly young adults. But you know, nobody there gives a flying one really as they're all there because they love the band/music. Oh, and they've had a single in the charts for 2 months now and currently in the top 20, with no sign of dropping out any time soon.

"Sorry, but this does NOT sound like anything that's making the charts in 2024, or anything that teenagers or twentiers are listening to at all" - well, that's odd, because my 20yo and 23yo nieces and all their friends love them (and Wet Leg), plus they actually do have a record in the charts, so your comment seems to be based on uninformed prejudice.

"there's no BEAT, and it's really "white" in melodies and chords". Yeah, and I can't understand why anyone would like jazz because it just isn't rock music...
@Baribrotzer
@Baribrotzer 4 ай бұрын
@@thetragicyouth Jazz isn't making Big Time sales; it's good music, but it isn't selling. And as for the rest, LDP are old fashioned rock/pop, with no discernable disco, country, or hip-hop influence. Those are the types of music that sell Big Time right now. Maybe they might sell big in Britain/Europe - but only there - and I could see that. LDP seem awfully unlikely to crack the American market, though, any more than Oasis did.

The US has traditionally not supported art rock and the North American reviews (the ones that have not loved the music) have generally stated that the album is not rocky enough for their liking. They will get a small hardcore following in the US. Who knows what direction they will go in after this though. I would not bet against Abigail starring in a feature film in the next two years. @@Baribrotzer
