This might sound absolutely ridiculous but it's worth a shot. There's a article somewhere or in like a factory manual, I forgot where, but it indicates the 740 chassis/shell is rated higher then most roll cages. Maybe see if you can get by with that and just have someone weld in some Doorbars till the other chassis is caged up. I wish I had that article saved but should be easy to find

A nice clean shell and focus on not smashing into stuff is honestly the next level up, I can't really get behind the whole missile thing, all it does is consumes shells, then again... Not my shells 😁 I've had a boosted BMW diesel just quit mid drift too but without stalling, MAF/MAP or wiring related to those is the usual culprit!

Im building a 91 740. Super high strung small block ford out of my totaled dirt track car with a 200 shot. Tremec tko 6060 with a triple, 8.8 ford diff with a polar industries spool. The engine made 762 at the flywheel barefoot, almost 900 on the squirt. All i have to finish is the front suspension. I redid all the pickups to fit 350z components so i can get that aftermarket support high angle gravy on my poutine. Fried in fat baby.

i honestly was amazed the axle shafts didnt grenade the first pull after getting this latest setup finished, let alone the amount of drifting and pulls you did get out of it. its impressive. sadly i think the new chassis is gonna need a ford 8.8 swap to prove reliable at this power.

I have that dead spot problem with my 245.. Reason is the stock tank, shitty "splash" plates.. It got 450lph in tank walbro pump.. But when car is half or less tank, comes problems when you do corners after corners driving like a hole in your head :D So surge tank needed... Or drive at least 3/4 filled stock tank in drift use..

Prob would benefit from some coil on plug. Especially spending most its time in upper rpm. Running stock coil? Dwell time on charging n firing at high rpm could be lacking. Volvo cam sensors usually arent intermittent unless wiring issue. Crank sensor not too sure. Love that u do this with old volvos. I wanna do a 142 drag car. My project is an s70 t5 manual fwd. Fun as hell at a st car but obviously cant drift or launch as good as a rwd.
