Sad that this is the end of baseball in Oakland and angry because they'll do fireworks and show highlights of the great times of Oakland A's baseball like they really care about the fans. Thanks for the video. I know you and the other fans feel cheated and you are right. However it was great that they let you on the field and did a great fireworks and drone show to end it all. They could have just ignored the end and let the stadium and baseball die without any send off. There is still some issues with them moving so who knows maybe at the last minute they could return. However without any assurance they would plan on staying in Oakland I would not blame any fans from not supporting the team.

I remember going to games in 1983,84,85 when I was 7….the Billy ball era….Ricky Henderson was all the rage. it was an awesome time. Crazy George…the wave…packed house. And the old configuration was the best. Getting home run balls running down those stairs was a blast. Then the bash era 89 the As were the best team in baseball and millions of fans showed up. Jose canseco was the highest paid player in baseball….everyone loved Parker Hendu and Stewart….Then the band broke up and they did the dumb moneyball cheap crap. They went cheap, nobody knew the players and fans lost interest.

I am not prepared for this. I do not live in Oakland. I am not an Athletics fan, but I arrived in Oakland on Thursday 19 September 2024, and I am spending the rest of the month following the Oakland Athletics home and away. The first three games (I am typing this from the Coliseum during the final game of the New York Yankees series.) But I will be there for the supporters and for the city. For this series, the Texas Rangers series, and the Seattle Mariners series at T-Mobile Park. This will be the 47th game I will have been to this season through eight different ballparks. There's no place I would rather be than with as many Athletics supporters as possible. And when I go back to Las Vegas for the Las Vegas Grand Prix in November, as I do when I go to Allegiant Stadium and T-Mobile Arena, I intend for everyone to know that I don't support them taking your team from you. The Athletics belong in Oakland. Simple as that.

Gabe, I know how you feel, I live around St. Louis, Mo and they have lost 2 NFL franchises, the gridiron Cardinals and the Rams, an NBAZ franchise in 1968 the Hawks, and nearly losing our NHL franchise the Blues which right now we still have. I remember my first Oakland Athletics game in 1978 when they played the New York Yankees, and when Charley Finley sold the A's to Walter Hass, In 1982 with Billy Ball and Rickey Henderson, my all time favorite A's player, the 1988-90 Championship seasons with the Bash Brothers, and even when they were constructing Mt. Davis, I even went to a Oakland Invaderrs football game there too. are you going to attend their very last game? @@gamer_athletics I understand but in reality what can they do even if they wanted to show appreciation for the fans. They’ve made each Sunday Alumni Sunday I guess. But as a fan I don’t know what else I can really propose them to do to show appreciation. Other than bringing back players like they have what else is there. Nothing really they can do or give even at their most sincere level if they did can I ever wish they’d done to show love to make me feel better about this. Not pins, not giveaways not even discounts could ever satisfy in feeling the appreciation by them. So honestly there’s nothing as a fan we can ask for by them that can ever make it better when we know it’s coming to an end. So anything Kaval said even then I just took with with a grain of salt
