On May 10, 2023, James Risen, the UMD Philip Merrill College of Journalism's Visiting Professor on Press Freedom, and Dean Lucy Dalglish held a discussion of Risen's latest book, "The Last Honest Man."

Sen. Frank Church of Idaho was an unlikely hero. He led congressional opposition to the Vietnam War and had become a scathing, radical critic of what he saw as American imperialism around the world. Great title. Very open to alot of interpretation. No doubt honesty isn't and hasn't been popular for quite some time. Seems it's all about $ and then power. Whatever!

I would love to be a part of Risen's class but unfortunately I am not a student of the college.
