Tiles look good. I agree with Terry that Ash you should just go up to the stove vent with tile since u will be cooking there and food does splatter. And cover those beautiful counter tops when tiling. I’m getting nervous that u’ll scratch them.

What you ended up with is perfect for the space. Had you filled that little space with more wood, the amazing beams wouldn’t stand out the way they do now. Painting the cabinets nearly the same color as the walls makes the space seem so much bigger and brighter. This was a tough space to put a kitchen in, but you managed an “island-like” built-in against the opposite wall. Beautiful small spot lights in the beams. It has a balanced French country charm with modern. Love that.

Quite simply- That kitchen is Elegant and shows what French style and Elegance is all about. Perfect decision on the tiling and beautifully done. Power points? Ample and all in the right places. The number of times I've seen power outlets behind the stove top, perfect location for burns and scalds when reaching over, or next to a sink, perfect location for wet hands to get elecric shocks. You two have given that kitchen layout sensible thought and planning, and it's perfect in that space. Congratulations on a job well done Both of you. Now enjoy ALL your culinary creations. The decision about the windows was inspired. By painting the surround the color of the walls, you really only see the view rather than the wood surrounding the glass. It's looks great. And the tile is perfect for the kitchen. It's lovely, but doesn't detract from the focal point of the room. It's so close! I'm excited for you.

Looking lovely guys, such a fantastic job. If you don’t want tiles above the 3rd layer, ensure your paint is scrubbable, when cooking you will have splashes I can assure you. Chateau is coming together in quite a short time for doing it yourselves 😜🥰

The tile job is perfect, the right height and color choice. Glad you blended the window openings into the wall color. Cute how the first piece brought into the room is “Patrick’s bed” (my animals comfort is the first thing I think of too). It will be delightful to see all the personalization to the kitchen when you unbox everything in storage. See you on Friday ❤️🏰 Ps. You might want to consider getting a multi function unit (they are smaller than microwave, but they air fry, convection oven, toaster, rotisserie)

One of my initial concerns was light in the space. ☀️ You even acknowledged that the lack of abundant natural light was going to be a challenge. You've clearly overcome that obstacle by the light colored tiles, paint and cabinets, and strategically placed light fixtures.💡 I did notice that the counter to the cabinet left of the door could use a smart little lamp to illuminate the surface.🏮My guess is you'll address that in the staging and turn it into a positive. I agree with Terry. The tile should go up to the extractor. There will be splashes and oil popping out when frying. Much easier to wipe down the tile.

I spent most of Wednesday in the ER So I missed when your post first hit KZbin. I really love the way you had your backsplash go just partially up the wall. It is very elegant and classy. I live in an apartment and I know you want as much use of space and I feel as though you did utilize the space perfectly.
