What happened after the arrest? Anne Frank tells her story
SUBTITLES: English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, and Hebrew.
This series is suitable for children from 10 years old. We also advise that parents should first see for themselves whether the series is suitable for their children, and that parental supervision is desirable.
Anne, Margot and Auguste van Pels had to leave Auschwitz-Birkenau. Edith remained behind. After a terrible journey, the train with hundreds of women arrived at the concentration camp. The camp was overcrowded, the hygenic conditions were catastrophic and the prisoners were given hardly any food. Margot and Anne became weaker and weaker.

About the Anne Frank House
The Anne Frank House was established on 3 May 1957 in cooperation with Otto Frank, Anne Frank’s father. We are an independent non-profit organisation that runs a museum in the house where Anne Frank went into hiding and we try to increase awareness of Anne’s life story all over the world, encouraging people to reflect on the dangers of antisemitism, racism, and discrimination, and the importance of freedom, equal rights, and democracy.

Whilst her family was gone, Anne and Margot didn't die alone, two sisters who they had befriended (Janny Brandes-Brilleslijper and Lin Jaldati) looked after them in their last days and also buried both sisters. Janny personally contacted Otto Frank after the war and told him about his daughters deaths.

@@orlathorburn297 They didn't give individual care for the Frank girls. They witnessed they were there and Janny worked as a nurse over the whole area of her camp. It wasn't their fault as they too were suffering under the circumstances, and there was nothing they could do. They all were starving and were getting sicker every day. But no doubt Anne and Margot felt terribly alone, and gave up thinking all their family were systematically murdered. They also weren't buried. Their naked bodies were added to the pile of corpses, where the Nazis then ordered other prisoners to dump them further off in the camp grounds. When Belsen was liberated, Margot and Anne's bodies had already deteriorated badly at this point when the British demanded the Nazis themselves to put the corpses in mass graves. Even in death, these prisoners got no respect. The Nazis dragged the bodies in turn like dolls and threw them in the pit like trash. Heartbreaking. Janny did witness Anne and Margot in their final days and confirmed Margot died first, after having fallen out of her bunk and dying from the shock. Anne would die a day or two later. They died over 1 month before the liberation. They were skeletons at this point, and Anne was suffering badly from the typhus and is said to have walked around in the freezing cold dirty camp, just wearing a blanket because all her clothes had caught lice and she was having hallucinations. They were so young too, Anne died a few months before her 16th birthday; Margot was eighteen years old. RIP Anne and Margot Frank.

Anne Frank's story is so heartbreaking honestly. To have to worry about so much when you're just a child and you're supposed to be out in the sun, playing with your friends. And to think that her story, which is so painful as it is, is just one amongst the countless victims who were murdered just kills me. Her story is so powerful and should remind us to never forget. The Anne Frank House does such a wonderful job of bringing her story to life. I hope many more people can educate themselves by watching series like this one and reading her diary. Educate yourself so you can nip this in the bud and stand up for the greater good to prevent this from ever happening again.

When Auguste Van Pels was leaving and was telling Anne to keep faith and to keep going, that made me tear up as when they were in hiding, both of them never got along with each other. It was as if Auguste treated Anne and Margot as her daughters. All my respect to the actors, actresses, writers, etc. for creating such a masterpiece. @@cavinlee4965 you are wrong. There were witness interviews from survivors who were with the Frank women and Auguste Van Pels. @@kerrynoaro9065 You are actually more wrong. What I said is completely similar to what you are trying to say. When you said Auguste Van Pels didn't treat Edith, Anne and Margot as her own daughters during hiding, I mentioned HOW when they were in concentration camps Auguste WAS trying to stay positive. And now you mention how any disagreements faded away in the camps and that the women were always together, that's the complete opposite of what you said in your first reply and what I was trying to say. I also did mention that they never got along when in hiding and you say the exact same thing, trying to make you look like you're right. Stop trying to make yourself look good by writing the opposite and use your word choice wisely, you make it sound as though you are trying to make a fool of myself or yourself. Also, what source did you even use to find out these witness statements?

Most of us have known the entire Anne’s story before watching this great video. We can feel compassion for her terrible fate. Probably all of us cried at least once thinking about her story, reading her diary or watching the video diary. She wasn’t very lucky, she was born in a very difficult times, she was forced to hide from the outside world only, because she was a born as a Jewish, not German or British. But in spite of everything she achieved A LOT. Now most of us is leaving in much better world, without any wars and mass murders. Think about all the things that we can achieve in the name of good. Maybe one day technology developed by US will bring Anne back. Imagine what she could feel seeing all this wonderful people reading her diary. Imagine Anne watching the video diary. Maybe she would see, that all her suffering wasn’t for nothing.

How can I thank you, for creating this wonder? Reading her book would have been able to explain me the same thing, but looking at what they had gone through, it took me to that world in which they were, and I can never be in. All of Anne's writing took me into her soul, her heart. The conditions of the people there, were pathetic. I almost imagined myself in every situation that those people were in. I was crying and sympathizing the goneby people all the time, knowing that they are gone, and it's just a depiction of those people by some beautiful actors. One last thing, I wanna say is- Dear Anne, you'll always be in my heart. You, your lioness, your sister, your father, Peter and all those Bravehearts will always be remembered. It truly speaks to all viewers, but I think it will especially touch the younger generations to help them understand the horrors and loss of human lives and dreams during the Holocaust. No matter how many movies or documentaries I watch or Holocaust literature I read, I know I am only brushing the fringe of what they went through. I hope somehow Anne knows how much she is read and beloved, and how much awareness she brought to the world.

i would like to thank the Anne Frank House and particularly the actress who played anne in this short mine series for having the courage and bravery to show us what anne may had endured during her last months of life. we will never understand or comprehend what anne suffered and endured while she was in auschwitz or bergen belsen, but this three part series showed us a glimpse what that may had been like for her. we will never know what the other six million endured in their last journeys of life. may this short series on anne show the world once again that we should never forget what happened to the six million people who suffered in the hands of the nazis, and that we should never forgive the nazis for what they did to their victims! may the victims of this terrible and horrific tradgedy rest in peace.

It's been a few years since I read Anne Frank's story, and I think now more than ever it's important to remember her story. Thank you for this amazing work. Greetings from Argentina.
