The real Uhtred never showed up in the history books until a century after King Alfred and his daughter lived. The real Uhtred never met King Alfred or his daughter Aethelflaed. Uhtred and 40 of his men were ambushed by King Cunut's men and slaughtered not too long after he won back his fathers lands.
