When I was in high school I worked at a Pizza Hut. There was this regular customer, lovely man, but a rather large one. He would come in, order and entire large pizza for himself (and it it in one sitting ) with a pitcher of diet Pepsi. Now, it could be that he just really liked diet Pepsi, but if he was buying it to offset the entire pizza I don't think his diet plan was going to be very effective in the long run.

I don’t know why I can have so much sugar and not be diabetic. But I don’t mind paying a tax for something that demonstrably goes to counter expenses from something caused by it. Insulin costs too much for too many!

A Violet Crumble is essentially exactly the same as a Crunchie, the only real difference is that the honeycomb in the Crunchie is less crunchy. Violet Crumbles have a slogan printed on the packaging that goes "It's the way it shatters that matters"

Ahhh! In Canada, Hundreds and Thousands is called sprinkles. Over here it usually is on kids birthday cakes made at home. And one of the 30 kinds of Tim Horton’s Donuts has it as a topping.

We have a sugar tax here in Seattle in Washington State (it's city tax only). It adds a 1.75-cent-per-ounce tax on sugary beverages. So that's like 21 cents per regular sized can of Coke.

I used to eat sugar directly from the bag, getting through about a bag (1kg) a week... plus the normal sweets and fizzy drinks. I no longer do that and nowadays maybe get through a bag in 2-3 months. Never developed diabetes though I was often warned I would. While eating too much sugar (anything can be unhealthy if eaten in too great a quantity) is unhealthy, clearly not everyone is going to come to a sticky end from eating too much.

I was diagnosed hypo-glycemic when I was 15, imagine being cut off from sugar at the prime of your life consumption period. The time of life when you woke up, had pop-tarts, for breakfast, Snickers for snacks before lunch, mcD for lunch, Hershey bars for snacks after, then cake or pie for dessert after dinner, all downed with SweetTea

@@donnahighley2940 not really no, eating too much high sugar content will cause a sugar crash because your levels will drop dramatically. The best dietary way is to eat high starch foods that break down into sugar over time such as chicken, white bread, pasta etc
