A Teenage Spy Thriller, starring cousin Drew as “Louis Paulson”, suave-o beret-wearing guerilla provocateur, where the good guy dies in the end. Drew wrote the original story, my brother Corky played the Enemy Leader and various bit parts, I played the Chief of Spies, wrote the shooting script, directed, and grew up to become (drum roll) Steven Spielberg - um, no. All other parts were local kids we corralled: “wanna be in a movie?, etc.
Featuring guns, explosions and no girls. Shot in Standard 8 Kodachrome in New York City and on Goon Island, Lake Ossipee, NH, summer 1966. Look for the scene where the guard throws the whisky bottle - it’s a cut-in, filmed months later, because the original shot was overexposed and unusable.
