Excellent documentary. I think the truth about the death of Dag Hammarskjöld would shock many people...

Must watch documentary film " Cold Case Hammarskjöld " (2019) . It's a bit taxing, a portion of it just wasteful feature film effect , a few silly wasteful mistakes(in the middle of the film) by the investigative journalists and it's long, about 2 hours and a half . But in total there are some new very important discoveries and facts about the alleged plane crash death of Dag Hammarskjold (imho was an assassination). Again, i think it is a must see documentary .

I think that Paul Johnson summed up Hammarskjold best in his book Modern Times: "He came from a family of successful civil servants in a nation guiltily aware that it had grown rich through staying out of two world wars."

As a British ex pat born in Zambia and living in Africa my whole life ...have developed an immense distrust of the UN...but particularly the former colonial countries...look forward to the day Africa can execute it's revenge on them...but hopefully Russia and China..with the help of BRICS will destroy them for us..so we keep our souls and hands clean from their murder...may God bring this justice to bear..🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

The UN’s possition on Katanga was too soft. They shouldn’t have treated the Katanga governement as a legitimate governemnt. After all it was a region rich with minerał resources that was still in Belgian hands, rulled by a puppet. Hamersjold had goog intentions by speaking too both sides of the conflict to avoide bloodshed, but the political reality made this impposible. Lumumba couldn’t let separatists take a rich part of his contry, he couldn’t hold peace talks as this would legitimate the separatist governemnt. On the other hand Katanga wouldn’t give the region without a fight. In my opinion the UN should condemn the separatist state and help Lumumba regain this region and make shure that that the separatists can capitulate safelly.

You know that the UN so called peace keeping forces has never brought peace in a country but fulfill the desire of the imperialist. It was only Lumumba who could foresee this but Chombe wanted fame and shortsighted on the political matter and also full of greed. Lumumba wanted to unite the Congo but also bring all powers to the table to avoid conflict at larger scale, but the double standards of the west was complex. You see here that Belgian wants to keep a hand on Katanga riches while manipulating Chombe and on the other hand the US also wants a stake in the Congo so they had to establish their puppet, Mobutu to protect incoming US interests in the Country. So Hammashow the son of a bitch was playing and fulfilling the dirty works of the CIA at the expence of blacks or Congolese. The Soviet at an extent were behind a total independence of the Congo and the free will of the Congolese people. At no intention the US-UN, Belgian or the west in general would want to see a nationalised state as intended by Lumumba and many intelligent Congolese.
