to clarify in case those are confused, the guy we played as before we broke into the house is named john arbuckle. in the comics he was the cannonical owner of garfiled and odie (the dog) throughout the entire time the comic was posted in newspapers. the reason it says "i am not the master" on the bathroom wall is to let the player know that smth bigger is going on with garfield controlling john telepathically, as seen when he tells us through the tasks bar that he made john black out and use the wire cutters we collected to cut his tongue off. before you die in the garage and the closet, you can see john's pupils dilate like garfield's did when the house caught fire, hinting towards the mind control as well

I think the meaning of the game was that Garfield was an evil entity that possessed a cat and those sigils and the relic was the only thing keeping you safe, which is why his 'master' at the start was stopping you from spray painting them and why Garfield didn't do it himself. I think what was inside the garage at the start was his old victims or could be the truth itself. When you spray painted the sigils, nothing was keeping you safe from Garfield getting your mind anymore and he got full control of Jon's mind. Which is why in near the end, you can see that he cut his own tongue, wrote on the wall and why his pupils become like Garfield's in the end. Garfield got control of him in the end which is why he broke into that persons house and (from what I think-) possessed them so they could be a new host to stay in. From what I'm theorizing is that Garfield broke into a home where there was a little kid, home alone, and possessed them. After all, nobody would suspect a child to be an evil entity, and that in the end, he was able to cause more chaos in the world. But that is just a theory.....A GAME THEORY Thanks for reading
