So that usually just means they take far longer to make 2 other Indies that Microsoft advertised the same way through their ID@Xbox Program, Cuphead and Ashen, also went through a long process of development, but both eventually came out great. Just be patient

Essentially shortly after he'd gotten large press coverage from the success of his game trailer, a couple of woke people noticed him and tried to dig up his history, one in particular, Zoe quinn, found a 5 year old tweet from him saying " modern feminism is terrible, and I hate it, I support egalitarianism and that should be mandatory," or something like that. So alot of people didn't like his opinions and tried to cancel him and his game, and in a way, they sort of succeeded. Raw Fury, one of the publishers backing the project, cut their funding and ties with the developer from the overwhelming misguided hate he's gotten and didn't want to get involved.

We all know he would be criticized once the game released if he broke too much the immersion by referencing current times and the concept will almost always widely vary from the story... If you feel like you don't want to support the project because you don't want to support the people, that can't be changed, but I'd at least give it a chance and let it be made... See 1984, for example. It was a pretty thinly veiled criticism of the USSR. You wouldn't notice that before reading the preface...

If anyone wants to hear more of Lorn’s stunning and visceral production, check out his album Self Confidence Vol. 3, his Maze to Nowhere EPs, and Anvil. If you enjoy his stuff, I also recommend checking out stuff by Kuedo (Severant is probably a little easier listening than his other albums, but they’re all excellent; similar strong and aggressive but almost placelessly brisk percussion with vast sounding use of pads and subtle instrumental hip hop influences) and Kangding Ray (very similar grittiness and sound palette, and maybe a little harder to get into for some)
