You truly are a modern day Little House on the Prairie woman! Your family is so blessed to have you as a mother and a wife. It is so evident that you want your home to be beautiful and cozy. I hope each and every day, you give each of your children a giant hug and kiss and tell them how much you love them. They will be growing up SO fast and out the door they will be. Treasure these times even though they must be a ton of work. You handle it SO well. You may not want to share each of your children on a video, but I would love it sometime if you talked about each one of your children and their personalities. How wonderful that you have 5 boys and 2 girls....what a blessing!! God has entrusted you with His children and you are no doubt pleasing God to the fullest. Thank you for sharing your beautiful family and home!!

I actually do think it’s super common to find Polo or nicer stuff for boys while out thrifting. I think it’s because most people don’t put that stuff on their kids that much so it just winds up getting donated. It’s actually usually harder to find athletic pants and the stuff most people dress their kids in because it probably gets worn out. Everyone saves the nice stuff for special occasions so if barely gets worn.

When Lisa says “cozy” I know there are good things to come! 🥰 Those chocolate rolls look amazing! That little hand sneaking a piece of chocolate was too cute! I love how the kids hang out in the kitchen with mom. You’re so blessed! I used to volunteer at a resale store and was in charge of the children’s area. People donated so many nice pieces and we couldn’t put them out fast enough! So glad that you took advantage of those bargains! Thank you for another great episode! 🍁💕🫶🏻

❤ your clothing organization tricks. As a Mom 4 many years ago every year I would go through and pack their seasonal clothing out and pack in bins and place them in the attic only to completely forget what was up there. 😂..fast forward 20+ years while trying to sell my house I discovered all these bins of baby clothes, toddler clothes, etc. Out of sight out of mind. 😂😂

We learned from our podiatrist that you should never purchase used shoes or past shoes down from one child to another or two share shoes. It can cause major foot issues over time because shoes form to the way the wearer walks.

I know this is old but had to comment, when my daughters were little (now mostly grown young ladies) they loved to wear dresses, my youngest wouldn’t wear pants at all, and I would buy them all kinds of dresses at thrift stores and yard sales, and people would always say I can’t believe you are letting them ruin that nice dress, but it was just their everyday wear, and if it got muddy or grass stained it was fine because I had probably only paid a couple of dollars for it 😊. This brought back fun memories ❤

Once upon a child has been great so far. When my baby outgrew his newborn clothes. I had some stuff in 0-3 but went there to see if I could fill in the gaps. I found $200 worth of baby clothes for $30. Some of the clothes I picked up had a tag on them still.

We live in snow country, too and I've bought boot mats and put them in the garage leading in to our basement. We can line up about 4 - 5 pairs of snowy boots in there and they have somewhere to de-thaw and not get all over the place. They actually stay fairly neat, I think it's because they are lined up on the floor...... this has worked for us! Maybe if you lined up ( in the winter ) a few of those plastic boot mats on the floor of your mud room, that would give more room for other shoes and be aesthetically pleasing to you? : )

My DIL had a list when she was pregnant with our first grandchild and she was so surprised that we found almost everything on her baby list at the thrift stores for a fraction of the cost. I don't buy myself anything but underware and socks new the rest is all thrifted and I have better quality brands and nicer clothes than I have ever had!

Lisa, I volunteer at a nonprofit thrift shop. People don't realize that thrift stores get lots of beautiful name brand children's and adult clothing! We often get donations of clothing from Old Navy, Gap, Vineyard Vines, Loft, etc. Also, you'd be surprised that people order clothes on-line and then don't return them! They donate them!!

Same boat. 2 girls, 5 boys. I think I was thinking it would be so random and I’d have to make too many stops. I went to one Goodwill and got each boy 1 pair of nice play jeans, one pair sweats and one play shirt. I actually found 2 of them newer nice jeans and ran to Marshall’s for the older two a nice pair of jeans and them each 2 nicer shirts. I have a new strategy this year and am hanging everything. We will see.

I shop at a thrift store close to me for my every day clothes. I find brand name tops that are like brand new and much better quality and better price than Walmart or target. And because the price is so low I don’t get upset if I stain them. They have beautiful childrens clothes too. My children are all grown but I did buy their in the past for them. You're too cute trying to figure out what 1 type of shoe can do the need if everything.... none, priceless. I have 5 kids and I hate how messy the mud room gets w all the shoes. I also have to have 2 sets of all types ie: boots/ sneakers bc my boys love to walk in puddles. I love thrifting clothes for myself as well as my kids. OMG I save tons of money. This year I found a salvation army that allowed each parent to pick 3 pants, 3 shirts, 3 underwear, 3 socks, 1 coat, 2 shoes for each of your children for FREE, for back to school. It was awesome!!!!

You can get the polo or upper scale brands at at TJ Maxx or Marshall’s. They are usually between $10-$15 dollars. ,not super expensive but definitely not thrift store pricing. I saw polo at Walmart but it was so pricey. Also when your sweaters start to pill you can use a gleaner to take off the pills. You can make a map that slides in the bottom of the cupboard with shoe shapes outlines with the name of whose shoes they are so the owners help keep it organized. You could make the map from cardboard sheets for free from Costco. I was wondering what flowers you planted,? so beautiful, make the room alive! You're so smart to shop at thrift stores for children because they out grow things so quickly! Way to go! Thanks for sharing it's so fun.
