Love Anna Torv since Fringe, she's so fantastically talented. I was so excited when I learned Anna will be in The Last of Us adaptation. I watched some youtuber played through TLoU and totally love the story, the relationship of the characters, the acting (voice/mocap/3d rendering...) However, I wouldn't say Tess in the game made the strongest impression on me. And yet, given only 2 episodes, Anna's portrayal of Tess made me really care about her. In the original TLoU, the 1 scene which broke me was when Sarah dies. I cried again during Sarah's death scene in episode 1... but I totally didn't expect to also cry during Tess's death scene, especially the things she said to Joe to ensure he'll protect Ellie and take her to the Firefly researchers to find a cure... A testament to Anna's acting talent.

The last few moments when the infected were approaching tess slowly but surely.. the fear and terror in her eyes, yet the refusal to back down even in the face of sheer, unimaginable horror.. a brilliant, understated performance

Also imagine the cordyceps is starting to impact her mind/nervous systems at that moment too, Anna's sort of frozen look yet her right hand continue to frantically try to lit the lighter is not just a show of fear, but also a last ditch battle with the cordyceps in her body to maintain her humanity, in order to do the 1 last thing she is determined to do - blow up the monstrosity around (and inside) her, and to give Ellie/Joe a chance, to give humanity a chance.

Anna Torv is an incredible actress. I discovered her in Fringe and watched almost all her work since and she never stop to impress me. I love the Last of Us and played since it was on PS3. I was excited for the show and when Miss Torv was announced for the show.. I didn't know I could be even more excited! I love how she portrayed Tessa and despite knowing how the game went, I couldn't stop crying in the game well.. Let's say it, The Last of Us show was able to make me cry even knowing what will happen in each scene 😅

I can't believe it's been ten years since Fringe ended. What a great show that was. Looking back, we are so lucky that Fox gave us 5 years of that show. They probably wanted to cancel it after the first year like they do everything else I love. It's a crime that John Noble never won an Emmy for his acting on that show.
