It's my first time watching a video of you. Jody and my man in white were so into it, I could see in Jody's eyes he was strugling not to cry, and dude in white was so vocal saying he loved the episode, you guys have my respect. @@JodysCorner I just wanted to add because a lot of people are saying this episode was pointless, not every plot thread needs to propel the main storyline forward. Sometimes things are simply added to give emotional weight to the narrative. The backstories of side characters don't need to be important so long as they add depth to the experience. That's what storytelling is. It's not a race to the finish. It's the journey and world-building. People we meet along the way might not always be roadblocks, but are simply there as motivation or hope. And that's exactly what Bill was for Joel. His note was the motivation Joel needed to remain hopeful and determined. It wasn't a waste of time. This was beautiful and poetic and it doesn't need to be more than that. It's not woke. It's not pushing an agenda. It's simply a love story set in a grim dark world and gives Bill a full character development arc that the game only hinted at. The writers deserve all the awards. Anyone who didn't like this episode isn't a homophobe, you just have bad taste and the emotionally depth of an insect..

I feel like game ellie is just feisty while show ellie is actively confrontational. My biggest gripe with the show is that it is actively no infected running around and they were such a threat in the game. I have a problem with the fact that Joel and Ellie are just casually walking like there's no threat giving history lesson.

To be fair, though, the very nature of a video game is that you need to almost constantly be running up against threats. I mean, at an unnatural rate.. or frequency. *This* actually feels a lot more realistic. (You know, TO ME. Just throwing this out there.) I've got this feeling... that when this is all said and done in March that the sum of all the parts is going to be ultimately satisfying for... well, everyone, really, but I was going to say fans of the game. This was a great episode. This is how you tell a story of two people who fall in love without an agenda. For all of us who played the game we all knew Bill and Frank were lovers but we never saw them because Frank was already dead. For someone like Bill to say he hated the world before the apocalypse (to me) meant that his wife probably died before the outbreak or he had to clap her because she got infected. That's why he got emotional playing the piano and before that he told Frank "not that one" because that was probably his wife's favorite song. I loved this take on both characters and I'm glad they didn't go the route of the game. The rest of Hollywood should watch this episode and take notes on how to tell a love story about two people who just happened to be gay.

Just like bills appearance in the game, it wasn’t necessary, and yet the whole story and game became a success. So calm your butthole, this was a great episode and it’s a great way of showing the viewers that the last of us isn’t just about Ellie and Joel, but of what’s left of humanity. Something the last of us 2 haters couldn’t get through their heads.
