I wonder how heartbreaking it was for Ellie when she realized she is option three. That must have sucked hardcore in that time, to just sit there waiting to turn into a monster with your significant other but your genetics gave you a big "no fucks given here" moment.

not really genetics. cordyceps is a mushroom with 400 other kinds of it. she does have fungi, just another type. if she was immune to it then the virus would have left her body. dont really remember the name but it slows down her immune system to 2 times. it also doesnt let any other its kinds to get her infected. she is pretty much occupied with fungi, just another type that makes her weaker. the most deadliest thing to her is not abby or the apocalypse, its cold. she has the worst case of anemia pretty much. take a closer look at the scene when they were in the hospital and they showed her results on the brain scan. by that all means, ellies death would be the worst case scenario because there is absolutely no vaccine or cure to fungi AND she is not immune. even if she was immune and they would be able to use her to make a vaccine they still wouldnt have to kill her. joel did the right thing by saving ellie The Game Theorists have it better explained than me lolz

Everybody who likes this game and the show are pretty thoughtful, sensitive, intelligent people, and you all have nice things to say and in touch with your emotions. It's a cool fanbase. I've been enjoying the HBO show. Can't wait to see how it lands the ending.

After this week's HBO episode, I came here to watch this. I like that the episode sparked more life into the mall than the game did. They are both unique and nice stories. Something about the game being everything broken and having to use your imagination to play the game... I know it was probably a licensing thing more than anything, but it was so fun watching Bella Ellie get to play and enjoy the spectacle of the mall. Even the fact they got their photos from the photo booth in the show was a nice give to those that played the game. Getting little treasures we never thought we would. I didn't mind it was slower paced because we got to see Ellie before she became so broken.

I’m really loving the series… But game Ellie breathes so much more emotion and likability to Ellie’s character. I just don’t really care as much for Bella Ramsay’s portrayal. Pedro’s Joel though… That’s another story! I like his better 😍
