8:00 - PS5 Pro on TLOU1 and TLOU2 - just pops more. Sometimes it’s so detailed and sharp that it is distracting. And PSSR does indeed introduce new artifacting such as shimmering due to the increased detail. In comparison, the base PS5 versions look softer, and doesn’t POP like the PS5 Pro. The contrast is noticeable only if you use a monitor or sit close to TV. I’m looking forward to 120fps via VRR. I think the Pro is worth it because after January, we are going to have tariffs across the board, I.e., get it for $700 now instead of $800 next year. But you do what you want with your money, not for me to say. Just that if you are a die-hard TLOU fan with hundreds of hours - it’s def worth it.

Two questions, not trying to step on anybody's toes. I genuinely don't understand how the whole "official" speedrun stuff works as I'm a pretty casual gamer but enjoy Anthony's content. 1. How do other people currently have or hold an "official" WR speed run on this game when there is some kind of "unlocked" frame rate limitation according to Anthony? It seems like he plays on a PS5, I thought framerates were pretty much locked on a PS5 and you don't get the same kind of granular control over that kind of stuff on a PS5 as you would on a PC? 2. How would playing this in any different framerate affect the outcome/speed of a one persons record vs another anyways?

You have to play on 30fps or 60fps instead of VRR. Other categories don't have this rule. VRR makes pushing carts a bit faster.

unlocked framerate isn’t allowed since it’s only supported by higher quality TV’s and monitors. not everyone has a setup that supports it, so it’s not allowed, but for some reason it’s allowed for remake speedruns. for part 2 you need to play on 30 or 60 in order for it to count. this game has a lot of weird differences in terms of framerate modes. some enemies behave differently, some weapons work differently (for example the flamethrower does less damage on unlocked than it does on 60 afaik, and killing two enemies with one rifle bullet only works on 30 fps iirc. correct me if i’m wrong since i don’t own a ps5. according from other things that i’ve heard, 60 fps also has more input delay/is harder to control compared to unlocked. like ultimate said as well, pushing carts also is faster on unlocked.

@@sillagana i was just answering the question above. Ant is a seasoned speedrunner and feels that the rules might change, so he uploads it with the necessary asterisk. Besides, he cannot play in the "official record setup" for this game, it just makes him annoyed
