The throat punch is my favorite one. One time I was running around in the area just before finding Ellie when she runs off and I turned the corner and an enemy jumped at me. I had my bow ready and I shot an arrow at him stunning him, but get this. The cool part was that the arrow was lodged in his throat and I guess it didn't register as a headshot so when I started punching him I got the throat punch animation and it looked like Joel just rammed the arrow through the guys neck with his palm. I was left awestruck with my mouth open it was so badass

I love how this game's combat is super realistic. In most games, you could get shot hundreds of times and still be alive, while shooting enemies a few times could kill them instantly. In TLOU, every time you get hit, you feel like you really got hit by a bullet. It's about as difficult to kill enemies than it is for them to kill you, and that's what makes combat in this game awesome.

I like how you still feel this on the lower difficulties (except easy mode, which is basically just a “This is my first videogame, go easy on me” option) The true experience is of course Grounded mode with even removing your HP bar so you gotta watch how Joel walks and stuff to see how wounded you are

On my grounded playthrough I was on the part in the store after the truck crash and I'd killed all but two enemies. Both of them disappeared and as I was looking for them one jumped out and grabbed me from behind while the other one ran out of his hiding spot and punched me to death while I was being held. Seeing ai work together like that blew my mind.

an idiot Naughty Dog used to do all animation by hand back in the days of Crash and Jak and Daxter. But you are right, they do use very expensive mocap suits and stages to make their animations look as good as possible then afterwards they go in and do some extra hand animation to brush things up and give it the full effect. For example when a mocap actor throws a punch, they do some extra animation after to give it extra weight. It just shows their attention to detail

15 completed Playthroughs lol, I love this game way to much. By the time I hit the fourth run I learned everything when it came to any kinda AI pattern. Eric Gutierrez my advice is to spam bricks or bottles in the middle of the room to try and get all the infected in a common area. Then, once you feel like you got all the infected you can in a single area, go and throw a Molotov or a nail bomb. That’s how I did it on Hard, but idk what difficulty you’re playing on so it you might have to do another strategy if you don’t want to waste supplies.

No it was very realistic. He saw a girl who was chased by lots of infected. He didn't think about anything, he only wanted to save her ass. Abby shot him only because he still didn't realize that they were in danger. BUT, probably, if Joel had more time to think and to realize what was going to happen, he would have beaten the shit out of them. I think naughty dog did a good job, I don't know why a lot of people hate on this game.

Because you just can't kill of a main loved character like that. And it's not just that, the game tries so hard to make you like Abby or at least understand her "pain" but no one really gives a shit. The worst part being in the end she doesn't even die. The game itself isn't bad, I loved the gameplay. It's just that the story is a mess.

I imagine they'll extend the clashing/ parrying between you and the AI for more immersion and to make the NPCs behave smarter and more intimidating. However, in this case, less is more (hence this video) and to have that shock value, if only 1-4 NPCs do this uniquely throughout the whole of TLOU2 my mind will also be blown.

I have actually experienced quite a few of these, most commonly the one where they beg for mercy and you can only kill them with a gun, trust me they're bluffing they will just pointlessly ram into you, the throat punch one was the most surprising, yet brutal things I've experienced in this game, truly a gaming masterpiece

Actually you can kill them with melee, but you cant if you recently stunned them. Try getting some distance and then running and here is a bonus: a few weeks ago i discovered that if you are running, get near any enemy and a wall behind them, and hold Square(Playstation's attack button), you will do an animation which rams the enemy into the wall with your arm, stunning them. Now if you punch its instantly a fatal kick or large firearm stock hit (like the hunting rifle's stock), or you can grab them. Similar thing happens in a vaultable object (like a counter or a table), but instead you will pin them down, and you can press the square button to punch them with no chance of retaliation. Kill is normally what would happen if you were near a vaultable object/wall
