The tv series is not as good as the game, it falls short, id give it a solid but uninspired 7/10, alot of the game-journey is missed out, the threat level is just not there, they tones down the violence too and Bella Ramsay doesn't 100 % convince as Ellie, a VERY important role, there is some good stuff but there's also waste like the full hour episode on frank and his bf that was only touched upon in the game, it doesn't have the sense of a grueling journey to me...shame really.

Don’t worry, later on they have their pick of the litter and one of the options was a fal, objectively one the best choices than damn near anything else in bills armory, but he still grabs some random bolt action with no scope or irons. That bugged the crap outta me, oh and how Joel didn’t think to grab a few of those frag grenades since the fuel was more than enough to stop the horde in its tracks, a few frag grenades isn’t really shit compared to several 55 gallon drums of fuel being detonated at once in an enclosed space.

I want to disagree with the other comments. I think that the show is a solid 8 or 9 out of 10. There are some parts that shook me for how they literally just ripped certain cut scenes word for word and visual for visual. There are also some episodes that take big liberties. It won an Emmy for a reason. My biggest gripe with the show is that infected don't come up as a serious obstacle in the second half of the show. Now. Bella Ramsay. I see a lot of people saying that they don't make a good Ellie. I think this opinion is garbage. I think it stems from people thinking Bella is not attractive enough. I think she fucking nails Ellie. I think she has the "punk kid" vibe down. People wanted a young Elliot Page for the role, because that's visually who they saw. I think that the majority of people that dismiss Bella are just not taking their acting into account. Pedro brought Joel to life. I don't think even the shows detractors can deny that. Just. Give it a chance if you have time. I barely watch anything these days, but Last of Us will give you that nostalgia hit if you've played the game, and if you keep an open mind about the new stuff, you'll be satisfied.

Grenades do explode but they can't start fires. The whole point of what makes grenades dangerous is the metal shrapnel that flies in every direction after they pop. They don't create sparks or fire that would ignite the fuel.

It was meant to speed up the process. The farther away the bite is from the brain the more time it will take for the person to become fully infected. In the hbo podcast, I remember hearing that the infected won’t attack you if you don’t resist but if you do they will pursue until you’re infected

@@legendg219heh, not really imo. I’m replaying the game for my millionth time at this point. And I still think the first episode, second are way better for Tess, Sarah and Joel. It adds more character and story and emotion. The hive mind stuff would’ve been way better and harder which is why I think the first half of the game is better. The third episode I highly would’ve preferred for a game to be the school part but for a show, the bill episode is so much better in every way. The fourth episode (I believe was them crossing town, haven’t watched in awhile) was so much more emotional compared to the og. Where they get ambushed and that’s when he has to get saved. And the man calling for his mom really hits in the heart. The next few episodes were similar but the bloater scene is so much crazier and better. And then the next few are the same. Left Behind being an episode makes alot of sense tooZ

I didn’t like this change. They claim they did it this way to show the infected aren’t violent if you stand still and don’t resist. But this is a huge contradiction. There were multiple scenes where someone stood still in the presence of an infected and yet the infected still ran toward them and behaved hostile. They couldn’t be consistent with the new lore they were trying to introduce.

I resent this show for a few reasons. One of which is that the dialogue and acting was better in the game. It was unique as a video game that couldve passed for a blockbuster Hollywood movie. They didnt need to make it live action. No one will replace the characters in the game or the way they looked. The game was presented with a beautiful bow on top and now, it feels like Hollywood’s exploiting the game’s incredible story and appropriating it with something not nearly as good. This stupid fucking idea of having the infected “kiss” Tess. Stupidest cringe shit on Earth, especially compared to how that scene was staged in the game. It’s all just so trashy. They didnt even have to write the story. They had the story and they simply made the script less clever. And the obsession with Pedro Pascal is so fucking dumb.

What they did to tess is flat out disgusting. Same with Bill. 2 bad asses to what ever tf they are now. And before yall pull the homophopic card. Bill was gay in the game. Yet still was an absolute force to reckon with. Who tf was this Cornball HBO ???? Also Tess wasn't Joel's lover, but damn well felt more like a lover in the game compared to the show. This show is Terrible tbh every single detail from story telling to characters was just a huge downgrade
